Yuriorkis Gamboa: 64 Second TKO Victory In Berlin This content is protected I want to become world champion as soon as possible! states arenas Yuriorkis Gamboa whenever he is asked for his goals. On Sunday evening in Berlins Universal Hall the Cuban Olympic gold medallist once more proved that he is very serious. At a show promoted by local Wiking Box-Team lightweight Gamboa scored his fourth victory in his fourth pro-fight by t.k.o.ing Austrian Thomas Hengstberger in only 64 seconds. Hengstberger who had won 12 of his 19 fights before facing Gamboa was knocked down for the first time by a smashing right hook after only 25 seconds. The referee stopped the uneven fight after the second knock down another 25 seconds later.. 500 spectators in Berlin-Moabit were impressed by the Cubans power and speed. Manager and arena-CEO Ahmet Öner: Once more Gamboa showed his exceptional class. Nobody in the world can stop this man! Öner will send his 25-year-old jewel into the ring again on September 21st when he presents his RISING STARS in a big show in Lübecks Hansehalle. Gamboas fellow countrymen Odlanier Solis will be fighting in Lübeck as well. In Berlin he was watching the show as part of the enthralled crowd.
how can anyone talk of fighting for a world title after beating a tomato can??? gamboa never fought no one. we dont even know if he can fight yet.
Andy Lee stopped this guy in 2. Considering Lee's a middleweight prospect, for the lightweight Gamboa to do it this quickly is hellishly impressive.
look at the quality of opposition hes been put up against and this is only his 4th fight it does say alot about his future, i'm sure after another 10 fights he'll be given a shot at the world title.
Guy sounds quality. He DID get knocked down though, so that's something to watch out for. Still, don't see him actually fighting for a world title for a little while now.
I Dought that anybody will find the video of the fight, but if anybody does... PLEASE POST IT. Thanks.
He is very very good. But he is weighing already more then when he started  And way more then when he competed at the am's. The talent is there...just like solis (who has put on maybe 15 kilos since he turned pro) We'll see if he can stay motivated and train like hell like he did in Cuba, otherwise he's going downwards in my book
Looking at that picture and the fact he came in at 130 and demolished the guy, I think having at go at his weight is unfair and innaccurate. Solis on the other hand is huge. He fought at 201 in the ams yet came in at 250+ for all his pro fights. That's James Toney level Burger King munching.
