Pacquiao shouldn't take this fight. It would be silly of him.

Gamboa has no name and immense skill. At least enough to where Pacquiao won't be able to roll over Gamboa. And at only 10-0, to the general public, if Pacquiao didn't stop this guy in the 3rd round, it would look horrible. If Pacquiao were to somehow lose, well that would be devastating.

High risk/non-existant reward. I don't much like the business aspect of boxing, but yah, it would be silly. And Valero and John won't touch him unless they have to. He would stop Valero. I am 99% sure of it.

I don't compare him to Jones, he's very different than Jones other than relying on speed and reflexes. Stylistically, he's nothing like Jones, where Jones was not safety first like Floyd, but definitely was wary of getting hit and held back sometimes...

Gamboa just goes at these guys like a blaze, it's nuts, his defence is great from his speed, but he really targets these guys care free and I think it will continue, as it's the Cuban way.

I could easily see Pacqauio losing.... all DEPENDING on Gamboa's ability to take a punch. If Gamboa's chin is very good, I can't see Pacqauio winning.

Pacqauio is legitimately where he stands P4P, but he's the most 1 dimensional elite fighter I have ever seen and there's only two guys down there that are really 'supernatural' in speed and ability, Gamboa and Guzman...

Guzman, whom I heavily favour now to beat anybody at 130.

    Oh man Cardstars....

Anybody from the 126 pool is nothing but a devastating loss against Gamboa, that division is NOT very good all in all, including the heralded Jorge Linares, he'd stand no chance at beating Gamboa with his patient boxer-puncher style and size disadvantage. Gamboa would blitz him and Linares lacks the power to do anything about it, talk about a bad style match up.

    And Chris John!:patsch

I'm so sick of hearing about this overrated hometown hero, he lost to JMM 9 rounds to 3 and got a bad gift decision, other than that he's beaten some decent feather's and former bantam's, big deal, some not even impressively and he's a safety first stylist, there's no way he'd beat Gamboa now.

    Valero....

The only people who can beat Gamboa are true elite fighters, and several are at 130 right now, that's a testament of how good this guy is already.

I guess he's not fully accustomed to that free speech thing!

Watched everything Gamboa-related on Youtube last night and WOW!:yikes

    He's like a cross between PBF(skills) and Pac(tenacity/power).

    I'm sold:deal

It won't last till the end of this year for him to be the mandatory to either WBA champ. But as I see the WBC rankings (where he is 3rd), I could see him being the challenger for this belt - poor JMM... :yep

I am watching Gamboa vs De Jesus right now (you know, the one with the bogus KD in it?)

I just watched him throw a left hook to the head immediately followed by a jab to the body. Anyone else ever seen someone do that frequently? Unusual 2 punch combo IMO. De Jesus certainly wasn't expecting it.

If they fought this June, I would seriously favor Gamboa to beat Pac. Since I started following boxing closely, I have never seen a prospect nearly as impressive as him. The guy has insane talent and natural ability, plus he is so damn relaxed when he fights. He's been destroying C levels like they're absolutely nothing and is extremely motivated/focused. It's amazing that Gamboa is not only a natural boxer with unbelievable speed and reflexes, but also a natural fighter.. in that he seems to have a Tyson-like mindset when he attacks and is the type of fighter that will go to war even when he doesn't have to. He reminds me of Guzman at 122 with less footspeed and movement in general, but with slightly better handspeed/power and more of a killer approach.

I cannot even put into words how much I would love to see Gamboa-Guzman in a year or so. Their styles and personalities clash so perfectly.. :yikes

I would not be surprised if you tell me ivan calderon wins over Pac:lol:

I'm a Gamboa fan too but if they fight now...... I dont think Gamboa will last six rounds. Anyway if the fight happens in 5 or 6 years from now... I would favor Gamboa to win over pac.

I don't think PAC will give the torch to Gamboa at this stage of pacs career!

well Calderon is a great boxer who shouldn't have too much trouble against the 1-dimensional Pacquiao :deal

and let me just mention by the way that I am a fan of Pacquiao, he is a really exciting fighter.

Well, we're all assuming different things. All I meant to say was that if I had to bet my life on it, I would favor Gamboa to beat Pac. That doesn't mean I can't see Pac winning, it just means I think Gamboa is the more talented fighter with the styles advantage. Whether he uses the right gameplan, has a good chin, or breaks down under pressure is still a question mark.. but we all can see how Gamboa could give Pac serious problems.

I would rather see Guzman-Gamboa than see a Cotto-Floyd, Dawson-Calzaghe, Povetkin-Peter, Mijares-Donaire, Pavlik-Abraham card. Lets hope Guzman doesn't deteriorate physically too bad in the next few years so we could see a competitive fight. It would really be something special.
