Pacquiao won't stop Gamboa in 5-6 rounds. He may very well beat him, but he won't stop him that early even now. This is not an average prospect, or even your normal elite prospect. He has far far more experience than normal prospects.

And it won't take 5-6 yrs for him to reach his peak potential. He only has about 2 yrs or so before he hits his absolute peak.

pac-gamboa ain't happening anytime soon..look mostly at pacs recent opponents. Pac has been taking fights with opponents with 30+ wins, haven't seen him take a fight recently with a guy less than 30 wins. Plus the move to LW, i hope gamboa doesn't follow pac early in his career, he 5'5 and the height might be a problem if he keeps moving up.

In fact i would have wanted him to debut at 126 and clean the division with the likes of guerrero, luevano, and linares(john ain't happening).

then move to 130 and take on valero, guzman, soto, jmm. The WBC belt would be vacant once pac moves to LW and gets successful with d.diaz(which i think he definitely will). Hatton is 5'6 and he's successful at 140, gamboa again 5'5 and at 26 i think thats his final height.

I'm saying this because i'm also a gamboa nuthugger and would want him to clean divisions and move up, clean division and become multiple division champ just like other ATGs:happy

I agree with you here. Gamboa I think is better off at 126-130. At 135 he'll will be too small. There's very few 5'5 guys become successful at 135. Jesus Chavez can't keep his belt there, Elorde Can't get one at 135.

For a guy with his amateur resume and the way he's been moving, he would be competitive... I give him about 4 fights until he's read yfor Pacman... 4 quality fights...

For those who don't know Gamboa's got 2 fights coming up in the next 2 months.

Yuriorkis Gamboa vs Darling Jimenez - May 17th on HBO
Yuriorkis Gamboa vs Jose Rojas - June 27th on ESPN Friday Night Fights

Two very solid tests for a fighter with 10 pro fights, I also suspect the fight with Rojas will be an Eliminator. If you haven't seen him i suggest you do, this guy has the makings of a future superstar.

everyone and his mother south of 135 is calling out pac nowadays. i guess it's all part of the territory of being the acknowledged "cash cow" of the lower weights.

Gamboa would never stand a chance ... he would get knocked out now or 10 years from now ... Pacquiao is too fast ... he's the fastest combonation puncher out today.

His power is evident and will show ...

Gamboa might be the fastest boxer iv ever seen. His handspeed is tremendous but its his overall quickness with his footwork and head movement that is so impressive. IMO he's ready to fight anyone at 130lbs and probably could take on most 135 pounders. Id love to see him fight Guzman one day but I might have to record it and watch it in slowmo to make certain I see all the punches thrown!

I'm sorry but there's no one out there that is 'too fast' for Gamboa. I'm not saying he'd beat Pacquiao but if someone's going to beat Gamboa it's not going to be because of the difference in speed. His hand speed is phenominal.

I give Yuriorkis a good chance against Pacquiao if he proves to have a solid chin and stamina to go 12 fast paced rounds. Time will tell.

Pacquiao isn't faster than Gamboa at 130. Or Guzman.

Right now I would favor Pacquiao. But 2 years from now? Lets see how things go. But to say what you just said seems a bit too "concrete" given what we have seen from the two fighters and their respective strenths and weaknesses.
