its a great move imo, i said about this before that he should move to 126 and its happening..he's not that tall (5'5), plus all the top guys at 130 are moving up in weight so i think its good...theres no one in 130 right now except for valero, soto, juarez, balloyi.

if he has a guaranteed fight against a title holder maybe just for a fight or two, good for some name recognition. though, i dont see him hanging out at that weight for too long.

There is a general rule in boxing : earning capacity is directly proportional to your weight.

126 at the moment is not very deep and even 130 is in the same situaton when everybody jumped to 135 trying to emulate the moneyman Pac. So I do not see any reason why hehas to go to 126 when there is not much competition there anyway. Instead h should try to become the male alpha at the 130 then for possible megamoney fight eventually at the 135. His built or tale of tape is actually for 130-135 fighters.

**** if Gamboa moves down to 126 he's going to be insanely strong for his weight. He was shoving around a big, strong, 130lber in Jimenez with relative ease, against smaller featherweights he will be even more effective.

I only hope they're doing this for a good reason, If Gamboa struggles to make 126 then it may not be the best option. If ths is the case then he should just stay at 130 as neither divison is strong at the moment.

Thats a lack of confidence and negative move made out fear and worry I guess this guy is notcracked up to be what everyone expects and what does this move obviously tell you? coming after his last mediocre perormance where he was dropped?

Mediocre performance?........Gamboa won every round of that fight except the round where he got knockdown which due to him having his hands low rather than anything Jimenez did, overall he had a very good showing in that fight.

126 and 130 are basically the same weight division to me. so many guys jump up and down from there.
