Did you even look at the records of his opponents before his 2nd loss?

    A combined: 57-87-6

And Norwood's last loss was to a guy who had a draw with a 10-6 fighter...

Put the pieces together. Gamboa's going to crush Norwood and blind fans are going to say how he obliterated a "solid veteran" in Norwood when in actuality all Norwood has going for him now is his past accomplishments. The guy is clearly not even in Gamboa's stratosphere of boxing ability.

Not really a step up at all. De Jesus was better than Norwood is at this point. He's looked very old in his comeback, and Golota'd his last fight against a mediocre prospect.

At first I also thought omg but then I saw he ws inactive for 6 years (!) and re-stared his career with 6 fights against no-hopers

Gamboa should be able to win easily. Of all the Cubans, including Solis, Barthelemy, JC Gomez and Hernandez, I think that Gamboa is the best talent. He is in shape, skilled, fast, hard hitting, and has shown the most poise in and out of the ring.

Only 7 pro fights and he's facing someone who's been in 45 and have only lost 2. Very ballsy step-up. He should have no problem though.. such a naturally gifted fighter..

    Gamboa is the f'n TRUTH

Good name to add to his resume at such an early stage in his career. Gamboa will beat him in impressive fashion...

It's not hard to make thousands of posts when you reply with mindless bull**** 99% of the time.

It's his 8th fight, shut up. Express your hate for supernaturals somewhere else. Norwood is way past his best, but it's a real step up in class and it will be interesting to see if Gamboa can get him out of there fast or just completely dominate him. The one thing I'm worried about is Norwood bailing out of this match.. he's known for cancelling matches and pulling out right before the date.

Just looking through the WBC rankings at Super-Featherweight and Gamboa is ranked 12th already and that's despite having only 7 fights and never being scheduled in anything more than a 6 rounder .

    Amazing ,isnt it!

Arena Promotion slowly gets a reputation for matching its boys incredibly toughly even at a very early stage of their careers.
    Solis,Gamboa,Airich,Kretschman,Hide,Selcuk,and so on.

Anyway! Gamboa doesnt stem from this planet. He figths like he is from outer space.

    Ok, got it:

The fight with Norwood is scheduled for 8 rounds. His fight afterwards should be a fight for a regional title, i.e. WBC International title. He loves the competition with his Cuban fellows (Solis, Barthelemy, Gomez) and catch up with them - Solis is going to win the WBC Latino title by Sunday vs. Long.

The fight vs. Norwood will absolutely be taped and screened (most likely on tape, not by SHO but a regional TV Channel).

I might give you more infos by Monday, Tuesday...

Am I the only one that thinks its disappointing that Showtime is getting this guy (this early at least), and not HBO?

I don't really LIKE HBO or Showtime, but to me HBO is still MUCH better than Showtime. And no matter who is the most talented, HBO still has the BIGGEST fights, and if this guy is really going to be that good, I hope he can get the big fights too.
