Right on the money. Mtagwa was not really slow just normal, but Gamboa was so fast he made him look kinda of slow...

Gamboa's handspeed is quite exceptional. He and Berto are certainly amongst the fastest that the sport can offer.

I can see many people are not too happy with a " Cuban " having so much praise and I can understand why. The Cubans have been missing in action for 50 years, and if it was'nt for defectors Casamayor, Hurtado and Gomez the Cubans would have been completed forgotten in the pros. That's about to change pretty soon. The Cubans have an incredible amount of solid defectors now like never before. Not only with Gamboa but also Rigondeaux, Lara, Acosta, Johnson, Despaigne, Dorticos, Garcia, Franco, Solis etc the Cubans are starting to hit the mark once again. It's about time!!! We have lost " hundreds " of World Champions in Castro's revolution to the amateur system...

Gamboa needs to fight someone who can fight.

The opponent doesn't change the speed of the opponent, but when you are fighting against someone who is far slower than you....you look faster. You gotta use some common sense bro. Do you think Gam would look faster against Floyd than he did against Matagwa? Ok then....

****ing nuthuggers think they do boxers a favor by making threads like this. Gamboa is good, very ****ing good. But he is not the second coming of God. Let his career develop and lets see how far he can go. People talk about him looking so good for a guy with such a short pro career, but they don't understand experience is something you get in the gym. Gamboa has much more rounds of experience than all his counterparts right now. And he is at his absolute peak, he is not a 23 y/o young boy!!!!! And I know, he will not be a 126lbs forever. Love to watch him, and I think he is a great guy, but please dont be ridiculous!!!!!

I can't believe you are even pulling the race card!!! I am glad to see Gamboa doing good. I really like him as fighter and as a person. People like me just hate nuthuggers!!! Especially newbie nuthuggers. Every time I see something like this I remember this Cuban guy in Puerto Rico who told me the greatest baseball player ever was Jose Canseco!!!!! Jose "****ing" Canseco!!!!! I smacked that guy so hard he hasn't stop spinning yet!!!!! Gamboa is good, but the fastest hands on boxing???? I dont think so. But he is a pretty solid fighter, he has a little bit of everything.

Plus, the only reason Cuba dominates amateur boxing is because since they can't turn pro in the island cuban amateurs have more experience than many pro's and are competing against kids who are just starting.

Ricky, in a while I will post a great list of all the YOUNG CUBAN AMATEURS defeating other fighter of their same age. Will you still comback here and discuss it with me after you see that list? You will be shocked, I will put that myth out for good...

Just wait around 12 pm after Lara defeats Brewer...:oops:

He is wicked fast. It's pretty hard separating the fastest guys in the sport. You'd have to actually step into the ring with Judah, Khan, Gamboa, Pacquiao and Mayweather to come to an honest conclusion imo.

Gamboa reminds me a bit of a young Iron Mike - just not as gifted.

Not just as gifted? :yep Gamboa is Olympic Champ, World amateur Champ, 4 times Cuban National Champ...

Mike Tyson never won any of those things!!!

Gamboa has a way better arsenal than Tyson...
