I think they're rushing Concepcion too much pitting him against Gamboa this early. Granted Gamboa himself has a lot less fights on his pro résumé but he's Cuban with tons of amateur experience and it shows in his fights.

That said, Bernabe has some window of opportunity with his power. Yuriorkis has been dropped a number of times already. He's cocky and out to win spectacularly, that there is Concepcion's chance at a huge upset. If Gamboa fights more conservatively it could be a shutout.

chimba please! Be reasonable. Nobody's overhyping Luevano...he's a guy that clearly doesn't have the natural physical tools of, say, a Gamboa but trains his ass off and learns the game and displays a great deal of skill and heart to compensate for his lack of athleticism and talent. Kind of like a Robert Guerrero. How anybody can root against guys like this or call people getting optimistic about their career prospects "hype" is beyond me. Nobody's making outlandish claims about Luevano the way people have been about Yuriorkis from day one, because there simply isn't any one standout feature (like Gamboa's speed) to get people overexcited and get blown out of proportion.

He's either ready or he ain't. You don't get too many opportunities to face the best back home. Concepcion makes Bernard Hopkins and Viloria look like P-dub with his ridiculous punching output.

I'm on the Gamboa Express. Sorry but Concepcion is a 1 trick goat. Gamboa is the real deal.

I hope this fight is in Primm Las Vegas. I would die happily and go to heaven.

Luevano was awful against Concepcion. That was a poor quality fight all-round, neither impressed me. Luevano has had better nights than that, I'm unsure about Concepcion.

Luevano landed his jabs at like 2% in that fight and threw hundreds. That's his staple diet but he just flicked it out there and put nothing on them, not even accuracy. Concepcion was too cautious considering what was coming his way.

Luevano was a true professional. He's nothing to brag about but He was countering all day against Bernabe.

gamboa wins this. he has better offensive tools than luevano, and seems to be improving his defense

If Luevano on an off-night outboxed Abe, Gamboa will eat him alive. I'm looking forward to seeing the kid KTFO actually, after that classless cheap shot while Steve was nodding at him and trying to touch gloves.

I was sitting less than 20 feet from the ring, you could hear the 10 second warning from the very back of the Joint, but no bell. Doby was there too. Somewhere.

And Nady should have been much closer to the action to stop the fighters. He was all the way on the other side of the ring. He messed up a bit that night.
