Chris John. Why? Because he actually has world class skills. While Gamboa has a whole lot of raw talent, but is also a whole lot of wreckless.

you're smoking crack if you don't think gamboa has world class skills.

barring his chin, he is an excellent boxer.

That's your opinion which you're certainly entitled to, but I just see a guy who jumps in with no jab or head movement, leads with wide open powershots, leaves several defensive gaps, and has a suspect chin. He's like a Hatton prototype without all the clinching. Guys like that get eaten alive by world class boxers like Chris John.

Chris John would not know what hit him!!! Gamboa in nasty KO in mid rounds... :rofl

John, while a good technical boxer with good solid power and a true Championship belt, leaves himself open perfectly for a Gamboa explosive flurry, and if that's not enough Gamboa can go the distance with him too if needed, remember those 4 Cuban National Championships? that Olympic Gold? and those 3 World Amateur Championships won by Yuriorkis? That too will be a " huge " advantage for the Cuban!

This is a major fight that " should " happen, after Gamboa takes care of JuanMa...

Yes I agree, Gamboa is the next big thing in boxing... :good

    WRONG...

Gamboa is not Hatton my friend, mainly because of 2 things that no one has in boxing that Yuriorkis has: INSANE SPEED + RAW POWER. Gamboa can get away with those small defects because he neutralizes his opponents, creating fear in them right away from the beginning because when they feel his lighting quick flurries, immediately they become very cautelous..

Also, I don't see those cracks in his arsenal like you do! He definitely is not a " jabber " and his jab could be better, but as most Cuban Olympic boxers just like Rigondeaux, they don't have a solid jab as they only use it to dictate the pace of the fight unlike american boxers who rely mostly on the jab. Cuban boxers don't use a lot of head movement, they rely on pure athletisism and pure leg movements to get them out of trouble, and this is how they win so many Gold medals. You don't necessarily need great head movement to avoid punches, you can also avoid them with your legs.

And keep in mind that Yuriorkis is not a defensive fighter, after all his nickname is " El Ciclon " and you know what they say, " sometimes the best defence is a good offense ". Yuriorkis does'nt have major problems at all in his defence just very minor things here and there and you can't expect more from a pure offensive fighter!

I believe that John is the true Champ at 126 until he meets Yuriorkis. John is has very good solid skills and I give him credit for defending his WBA Title so many times but he has never ever faced a monster like Gamboa. Against Gamboa his party will be over! This fight has to happen and I agree with Black, after Gamboa takes care of Lopez!

Gamboa is the next boxing superstar!

The reason his chin got exposed was because of a slight lack in skill though mate.

I think Gamboa takes this.. Young, athletic, talented. Always seem to be a good mix against the experienced guys. I think Gamboa needs to learn alot, but i see him as a top p4p fighter in his future.

 I didn't even read the rest of your post after that. Hatton was always a quick fighter much like Gamboa and that's mainly what got him to the top level, and Gamboa's power isn't even really proven yet. KOing a bunch of bums doesn't make you a great puncher.

The best opponent Gamboa was faced with was Darling Jimenez and despite hitting Jimenez with everything he had, Gamboa still couldn't take him out. Gamboa's power is yet to be proven IMO. Yuriorkis has been very protected for the most part.

You know what, now I did read the rest of your post and I don't see how you can't see all the cracks in Gamboa's aresenal. Not only does he lead with open powerpunches, he also keeps his hands low and his head up high leaving him open for just about any damn punch you can throw which leaves his questionable chin open to pinpoint counterpunches. If you don't see all that then you certainly don't understand the technical aspect of the sport and if that's the case you should be quiet now.

And another thing! Chris John has already faced much more threatening fighters than Gamboa in JMM and Rocky Juarez, twice... who is a much more proven devastating puncher than Gamboa. So don't go tellng me that Yuriorkis brings something to the table that Chirs John hasn't seen before.

    I think you're blind.

Gamboa would ko John in about 9 or 10 rounds.
