    Ponce De Leon throws a looping left and falls well short, getting countered by a quick combo. Gamboa starts to flash his hands as he gets Ponce De Leon near the ropes. Ponce De Leon covers up and trades straights with Gamboa, landing the left but taking a right. Gamboa is spreading his stance and lowering his body while popping left jabs and rights to the body. Nice left by Ponce De Leon just above the belt line, but he gets warned to keep them up. A long 1-2 by Ponce De Leon as Gamboa trots back along the ropes. Chopping overhand right by Gamboa as Ponce De Leon lands a left. BIG overhand left by Ponce De Leon. They hug and maneuver together to the ropes tapping each other in the head. Ponce De Leon misses some straight shots from outside as Gamboa leans in and tries to counter but misses his own jab. Big shot by Gamboa. Ponce De Leon comes forward but takes a grazing right.

    Looks like Gamboa is just waiting to react to Leon when he opens up. Nice counters from both but I feel Gamboa's work won it with his flurries.

    Ponce De Leon comes in with his arms held up high to block and parry, and waves a left hand but gets countered. Body shot by Ponce De Leon. Gamboa ducks and dances through a high combo with his hands glued to his sides, not getting touched. Gamboa is trying to get into a flashy jabbing contest but is thrown off by Ponce De Leon's awkward rolling movements. Gamboa is walking forward, body-feinting. BIG right hand by Gamboa. Ponce De Leon takes it well. Gamboa hops around and throws jabs to the body. 1-2 by Gamboa flashes out but is caught in the web of Ponce De Leon's arms coming back the other way. Ponce De Leon loads up on a big overhand left that lands just under the ear. Another one misses. Gamboa dances around, luring Ponce De Leon along and timing him with a good right hand.
