 :patsch No, he didn't. Trust me, I was there...just a few rows back.

There was a good twenty minutes of booing throughout the venue (and out in the lobby and street) after the decision.

Lopez is a charismatic fellow but a clear class below Broner and Gamboa. He wasn't no G.

We rarely disagree all that significantly, but in no way whatsoever did I see any kind of a gift in the Lopez/Mtgawa fight, IB.

I've watched that fight many times. The best shots Mtagwa landed were after the bell, Lopez had him falling all over himself in the first couple of rounds.

Lopez was gassed as **** in the last 3 rounds and Mtagwa still couldn't do **** to him.

I don't really agree Gamboa is better. Hes been better against certain opponents but I know you've seen enough boxing to know that doesn't always tell the whole story.

Lopez has real good timing and countering skills, excellent hooks and is a pretty good finisher when he has a guy hurt. Thats an interesting match for a guy who is aggressive at times, sloppy and has a somewhat questionable chin.

I'd love to see that fight.

IT wasn't close at all except for Mtagwa finished way stronger than Lopez. A lot of fans are fooled by that.

And he found the way out when the clash of heads occurred, I have seen worst cuts and they keep up on coming, DL was whining to the doc and referee and didn't protest when they stopped the fight, he should had know he was behind on the cards, IMO he quit, Gamboa's was just starting to pound him and he didn't want nothing of that.

Well I think the Lopez fight is what makes sense. I don't see it being an easy night for Gamboa since his style does make for openings for Lopez to counter as he does have good cocuntering and instincts when fights get intense. However Lopez has been gassed and he may just not be quite at the level of Gamboa but I could see a good counter send him to the canvass hard.

I just meant that I thought I heard of Gamboa having weight issues and talking about big fights with Pac and Mayweather. He really needs to move up in weight slowly. I don't know. Sometimes he comes in really hard, he seems to have become more patient with his attacks; which is great. he just isn't a super intelligent fighter IMO. I think he is going to be a good fighter but I just don't see him going very far. Though a completely different style, he kinda reminds me of Vargas. The higher up he went the quicker he fell. He had a super fast rise to the top but just didn't quite have what it took to be an elite. I just don't see the skill set to be an elite fighter and I know I am in the minority when saying that. He's good at a lot of things but great; I just can't say that.

It was more or less Lopez in the first half (NOT the first ten rounds) and Mtagwa in the second half, except I feel Rogers started taking over a bit before the midway point. I also feel JuanMa was the more severely hurt of the two at the times he was hurt.

Lopez has pretty good timing, but IMO not enough to offset Gamboa's speed and sharper punching. I also envision Gamboa making Lopez miss a great deal with his many options as a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none defender. Gamboa has MUCH better stamina, by quite a large margin.

Unless Lopez sparks him early, it starts to become Gamboa's fight and possibly a bit of a schooling.

I don't think Gamboa (or Lopez) will ever land Pacquiao or Mayweather.

Too much weight to climb, and just too little casual fan interest in what goes on in the lighter divisions.

Gamboa vs. Lopez is still a perfectly good match to make at featherweight - maybe the best (and maybe even the biggest/best match to be made below welterweight), even though the outcome is IMO a given.

if the fight kept going to late rds it would be a replica of salido gamboa.
gamboa was taking his time, without taking risks against a hard hitter, he was ready to unleash himself in last 2 rds

Lets see JuanMa vs. Broner, that would be a great comeback and tune up for JuanMa.
