Crawford keeps moving around the edge of the ring, throwing long jabs at Rios. Nice combo by Crawford, putting hooks and rights together as Rios wades in to meet him. Quality jab uppercut by Crawford. Rios is taking it all and coming forward in the hopes of landing something big of his own, but the hope is growing slimmer by the second. Rios is so much slower. Several jabs to the **** 'stache by Crawford. Rios tries to walk him into a corner and all he's able to do is facilitate a clinch. Hooking lefts and rights by Crawford, boxing Rios' ears. Rios keeps coming, and is making some attempt to defend on the way in but failing as jabs find his face with ease.

Rios's coach tells him "This guy's nothing, he's wide open for you!"

Round 5

Crawford keeps jabbing and circling out. Rios tries to pressure him into a corner but isn't even within four feet of him except when getting his mouth full of jabs, swallowing like a gold digger wearing a new piece of expensive jewelry. If Rios manages to push past the jab, he is hit by quick hooks to the head. Rios is constantly coming forward but hasn't come near landing a punch in a while. Crawford throws some long combos, and Rios pauses his advance to turn his head to the side and spit out some blood. Eww. Crawford lures Rios back into the corner while backing up, and crouches to slip some Rios jabs. Crawford throws a combo at him and strafes by as Rios slugs him with a left forearm to the body.

Round 6

Crawford is a southpaw again. The right jab is on display. Rios is charging forward slowly, throwing slow overhand rights. He gets spun to the ropes and covers up to take a piercing Crawford combo on and through his forearm guard. Rios keeps working that right hand and missing by several inches at least. Good body work inside now by Crawford as he stays glued to Rios, foreheads pressed together. VERY nice body work, hitting that softness with both hands. Left hook to the brow by Crawford. Big right hand over the top lands on the head of Rios. It's all Crawford, with Rios throwing almost nothing back. One left uppercut by Rios, that's it. Crawford keeps hammering away at him and pushing him across the ring, into a corner. Crawford works that body and slaps another left hook upside Rios' head.

:think For that and other reasons, it's reminding me a bit of watching Klitschko's severe domination of Adamek earlier today. Like a miniature and lower-skill level version of it.

 

Round 7

Long whipping body shots by Crawford. Rios is pushed to the ropes. Crawford steps off and jabs at him. 1-2 by Crawford. Orthodox stance from Crawford this round. Rios is pushed again to the ropes and falls prey to some uppercuts while trying to get his hands up. Crawford again draws Rios around the ring, sliding his feet back and jabbing out accurately. Crawford switches southpaw. Rios is approaching and stopping a couple of feet away, making Crawford reach and miss with his right jab and the right hook he's throwing lightly off it. Now Crawford starts to circle out very wide and throw long right hooks, reaching out as far as he can. Rios is spun into a corner trying to press in on Crawford. BIG RIGHT HAND hurts Rios! He's on the ropes. Crawford starts to come at him with a little of everything, throwing short lefts and rights from various angles. Now Crawford loads up and lands a big left hook around the side. Rios grins through the pain and pushes forward trying to land overhand rights and lefts, happy to go to war.

Round 8

Rios comes bowling in with his head down, and Crawford counters him while stepping back. Rios walks into a BIG right hook as Crawford has turned southpaw while quickly circling out of his way like a matador. The bull is getting stuck and bled. Alert PETA. Stiff left jabs by Crawford now, leaning in against Rios in the pocket. Rios gets in a single right hand that shakes Crawford's braids up on end. Rios is pushed to the ropes and takes several hard shots to the body and head. Rios throws with him and lands one looping right but is eating bombs. Crawford nails him with a HUGE straight right to punctuate the exchange while taking a long step outside, leaving Rios to bounce off the top rope. Rios steps in and lunges with a high right hand and misses very badly. Crawford smothers him against the ropes and pins his arms down, then taps him with one more left hook to the side of the head and a flurry into the guard.
