I dont know where people get that hes cherry pickin.. I knew Salido was a though guy and good fighter actually he slowed down a little(Maybe good for Gamboa) People were just looking at his spotty record(earlylosses and tough comp) without looking at the guys hes beat.... And i also think Solis is probably the best available guy for him since the Lopez fight isnt being made and Chris John is still fighting safe opponents.

Gamboa's the man for facing stiff competition that no one else wants a piece of so early into his career. This is like the 5th high risk low reward fight in a row. Gamboa's doing what others should be and fighting legit challenges that even if he doesn't look spectacular winning he gains from. Way better than fighting stiffs to look impressive with KO's.

To your point, there was a point in the fight with Manny where Solis seemed to be a bit uncomfortable in the corner. He said something to the effect of: "I'm getting hit too much". He looked a bit worried, but, as I said, he stood right in there. I haven't see all of Solis' fights, but he does seem to have some problems with awkward fighters when they are on the offensive. Gamboa does not fall into that category IMO.

But, the times when I've seen Solis struggle with guys like Manny and Critobal Cruz because of their awkwardness, he's still able to get his. He had Cruz out on his feet in the 12th round after being fouled to death in that fight. Fought like a real warrior in that fight.

Only thing that is of any concern is if Solis lets Gamboa dictate pace with his speed. I'm hoping Solis is smart enough to not let that happen. He has the height and reach advantage, so he'd be wise to try and keep Gamboa at bay with a jab. He's stated that he plans to go hard at Gamboa's body, and I hope that's the case.

    :good

Yeah, I think with Salido it was the record and with Solis it's the fact that he got stopped by Pac (not that there is anything so terrible about that) and the fact that he lost to Cruz (who is also much better than his record, like Salido).

Gamboa is too similar to the version of Pac that beat Solis and will follow the plan laid down. I'd say Gamboa of today is probably on par with that Manny.

Ya'll are ****ed up. Gamboa has way too much speed, power, and technique for this guy.

I can't believe you think Salido can win a decision. He has a punchers chance. That's it.

Mother ****er is probably gonna get bombed out early.

But ya'll bettin on a mother ****er due to his propensity to take a beating then knock out a fighter who has exhausted himself by landing so many damm punches, is a bad bet.

This fight is very even. Solis is a skilled boxer-puncher and is coming in with no pressure. Gamboa's vulnerablity to left hooks is worrying if you are a fan plus he never showed good adaptability before which could play in the Mexican's hands. I think Gamboa can get this one late, but I wouldn't rule out any outcome.

Very competitive fight, and if it will be one-sided for the champ it means he improved since his last outing.

Man, this is not a mother ****in competitive fight.

Ya'll sell Gamboa SHORT. His technique has significantly improved and he's now a pfp fighter whether he gets the credit for it or not. On top of this, he's got amazing athletic ability.

Solis has NO speed. This is not even the same guy that got his ass whupped by Pac. He's older and slower.

The only way this guy wins is if he can absorb a massive beating and then somehow while down virtually every single round, comes back to TKO a winded Gamboa.

I don't see that happening. He has a punchers' chance, and that's not good enough for me.

I would be surprised if this goes over 5 rounds.

This is a good fight for both of them, Johns doesn't want to fight Gamboa, he wants to stay in his hometown, he has received numerous offer from Gamboas camp and he hasn't responded I think the WBA had step in to no avail, so forget about Johns.
