Gamboa by mid to late stoppage after some rough early moments. Hopefully this fight won't take place until both fighters have had a chance to really get into their grooves and prove themselves. Right now it's anyone's guess.
I don't have a whole lot of analysis to add, simply that JuanMa has faced the better opposition and completely blown his opponents out where Gamboa has made some very amateur mistakes due to his being a professional such a short period of time. Right now Juanma in a 1 or 2 round blowout, but a couple of years from now, who know's? I also have to agree with the previous poster that mentioned that Gamboa's footwork is awful at times and that is what has resulted in the multiple knockdowns he has suffered.
Gamboas fought bigger men than Juanma has, that's something a lot of people are forgetting too. I picked a Gamboa KO but wouldn't be suprised by a Juanma KO either, it's a close call.
I don't think Gamboa's chin is made of glass but I will say it's suspect. He has never been wobbled or seriously hurt in a fight. An elbow hurts way more than a punch and he got right back up. I think most of his KD were off balance like Floyd's KD in the Zab Judah fight. When he wobbles around the ring silly like Mosley did in the Vernon Forrest fight then I will say his chin is glass.
the guy has been down and gets back up pissed off...he has lightning hands too...this would be a great fight...I kie gamboa but JML is great too tough fight
Gamboa is really really good, but he fights too much like an amateur. He needs to learn how to have better ring judgement. He has insane reflexes, but when he goes into offense he throws it out the window. He also needs to know when and when not to fight with his hands down because it will cost him. Personally, I would never keep my hands down, especially with a fighter like JuanMa.
rhis is true...noone rea;;y knows how good either fighter is...they are both incredible prospects and this would be a good one down the road
His defense is too wide open for a fighter like Juanma. Juanma has a better defensive guard, so that's probably where an advantage is. Also, Juanma isn't exactly the fighter that you want to gamble on if Gamboa has a strong chin or not
