Admittingly I was hoping for Rojas or Caballero but this isin't bad.

At least he gets another title out of it.

Gamboa wins. But it won't be a unification. They can talk unification all they want, but Chris John is the "super champion", and when there's a super champion, the regular champion can't unify. The WBC would just strip Gamboa.

Yeah, this fight sucks, but Gamboa will gain a title and hopefully he'll defend against Rojas and Cabellero.and Juanma

Ot the WBA will just make John Champ in recess or make some BS new rank...

But taking his title away sounds more likely.

Pretty interesting fight imo. Salido is a legitimate contender. How many of those has Gamboa fought, exactly?

Gamboa wins this one and finally becomes a real champion.

Gamboa by TKO in 5th round. Salido is solid, but is not of the caliber of Gamboa.

I'd have loved it if the Rojas fight had come off!!! Still, this is a decent fight.

Interesting fight. IMO Rojas would've caused Gamboa serious problems if not his first loss and if his style works, Caballero is one helluva boxing machine, Salido is a full caliber lower in class. Ironically he's still ranked over both of them AND Gamboa by The Ring (#3@126), and he did beat Robert Guerrero a while back before that debated drug testing scanadal broke out. Of course he beat Cruz for the 2nd time.

Gamboa should win this one and should win big if he comes out with the ring plan and punches from r1, but it could be interesting if the fight enters r9, conditioning could be a factor.

Solid fight, I just don't know if it'll count as unification though it might get approved by the WBA, they are after the fees like any other organization.

I think yuri is ready for John right now. If slow ass juarez can almost KO john
    I like YG's chances real good. Dude's a prodigy

  15. I'm still underwhelmed by Gamboa. He looks good one day in blowing out Mtagwa and then mediocre against Barros. I just don't know which Yuriorkis will show up. I don't know how much of a test Salido will provide, but maybe he'll bring out the best in Gamboa. I'm not getting my hopes up though.
