Unlike Rios, Gamboa moves his head and uses angles. Where Rios was standing straight up without a jab and eating Abril right hands all night long trying to plod his way in, Gamboa will use superior speed and angles and likely get to Abril and stop him.
Gamboa because he actually knows how to box fast paced and not just punch till the KO, Gamboa UD 12 ( 118-111 )
Gamboa had a rage about him in his last few fights. Still swinging when he knocked a guy down trying for the finish. He wouldn't let himself get tied up like Rios did.
They fought 3 times ( twice as juveniles and once as adults in the nationals ) and Gamboa schooled him always ( Points ) . Abril's style has been always awkward , he's a tricky fighter who likes to move a lot and frustrate his oponents but Gamboa knows how to adapt and connected the better punches . Peace .
