    Future top pound-for-pound fighter, perhaps.

He better tighten up his defense against future elite opponents, though. Even Floyd knew when to keep his hands up against good opposition.

I think he's going to be a future P4P star.

Gamboa has the tools to become a great fighter; speed, reflexes, upperbody movement, power, timing, accuracy, and punch variety. The only unknowns with him are his chin and heart, both of which I don't expect to become an issue.

The thing to keep in mind is the level of opposition he's facing so far. His management hasn't been feeding him bums, so the way he's blowing out these quality C level opponents is quite impressive. Doing it the way an experienced/high quality champion would.

Even at this point, I'd pick him over all of the 126 pound title holders (Linares, Guerrero, Luevano, John) as well as Edwin Valero and Cassius Baloyi at 130. Could end up holding titles at 126, 130, and 135. Possibly 140, but I won't go too far just yet.

As far as his style, he reminds me of a less mobile version of Joan Guzman at 130, but with more power and better hand speed. Perhaps an ultra-fast, less-technical James Toney.

Well... being a flyweight at the Olimpics, fighting at SFW is a pretty damn big jump up in weight already. Given his size, SBW would be his ideal category, but his body just looks fine at 126/130 and I think he might have trouble making 122. So he should definitely fight at 126 for the first bunch of big fights. The guys are bigger and physical stronger than him at 130, and any fight North of that would be a big disadvatage in size and physical strength.

There's plenty of talent between SBW and SFW...

I want to see him get cracked a couple times to see how he withstands adversity, but he's clearly an elite talent.

In the worst case, he'll end up as a better version of Zab Judah. Best case, who knows. ....

Naah, I don't think he can surpass Floyd Mayweather's achievements... he's already 26...

i'm on the express already:D and believe me this guy would be great, doesn't matter if he's 26...experience wise he has the advantage because of a long amateur career.

The only thing that bothers me is his height and current weight. He's 5'5 and already campaigning at 130. I'd want him to become a multi division champion like the other stars:yep

Moments ago, Gamboa said in a radio interview (talkinboxing.com) that he would have no problem to go out and beat Manny Pacquiao RIGHT NOW.

He said then, that with just a few pro bouts under his ledger no sanction body would give him the chance to fight someone like Pacquiao's...

Just like I said in many other posts, I still wonder how Gamboa will fair over 10/12 rounds. So far he's been crushing guys and doesn't bother getting in a few more rounds.

I would like to see him fight another tough Olympian SFW named Vitali Tajbert. He's the European SFW champ. Haven't heard Öner mentioning his name yet..:huh :hey

    Here's his record: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=337952&cat=boxer

This would be such a great test for gamboa in which he'll likely (has to) go 10 rounds.

    Peace
