Hey I am currently watching the steady rise of Cuban star in the making Yuriorkis Gamboa, he appears next at Pechanga resort on Oct 4th against another unbeaten cat in Marcos Ramirez who has impressive stats of his own.. (25 / 0 with 16Ko's ) Gamboa.. simply.... Is he the next superfighter to emerge from Cuba.. he is a stones throw away from amazing success , he has the Nabf already and in a years time i throw him in with a Chris John.. How good can he be.. Is he the best featherweight contender today???? any views..?
He is a very good fighter,a solid fighter with power and great skills, speed altough I saw some lack of concentration and focus sometimes.Think 126 is too much for him
Who cares about Gamboa. When the **** is Rigondeaux going to defect and turn pro? Seriously though, he's got good skills, great power and speed. If he stays focused he could be a star.
YES he has things that need ironing out, i saw him fight Jiminez in Primm.. He was knocked down in the 4th but did alright by getting a decent victory over 10 by dec.. You say he is better at a lighter weight???
Rigondeaux is awesome, now that is a special cat... I'd buy that kid the tractor inner tube myself if it meant i could have financial input in such a talented kid.. Defect NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He has a chance to be something special. "Keep your ****ing hands up *****" is what I would say to him.
Yep,he ****ing came in in the Jimenez fight at 144 and a half and that was at 130,he is gonna die working the corn fields to make 126
I hear you on his lack of concentration, kind of like Zab in his prime. But the boy is the truth, but to bad he's 26
Still the lure of being a multiple weight champion in the future will probably get him to stay at Featherweight till he gets a title shot. The IBF title has become vacant(to be fought between Orlando Salido and Christobal Cruz) and I'd give him a good chance at beating Steven Luevano.
he'll snatcha couple a titles at least before he's done. one of my fave's to watch these days ,maybe even my number 1 choice for exciting fights.
i like him he is a good fighter needs to work on his hands he keeps them down all the time. what really scares me the most is i seen pictures of him on myspace with him standing on a bently car riding a sweet motorcycle. i hope his new found fame doesnt distract from his real goal
ooo Luevano... I think he has a very good chance if he can stick to a good game plan and not get too careless. Luevano will be a good test...
