Round 3

Negrete is creeping in, arms crossed over his face, and dashing forward throwing a lead hook. Franco slides his feet back while picking off punches and countering with chopping rights and slapping left hooks. Now less mustard on Franco's shots, although he's actually nosing out in front in terms of volume chucked, pretty much reversing their roles from the second round. Negrete doing best when he comes forward and then immediately transitions into defense after unloading.

Dougie Fischer gave Franco the only round @CST80 and I have on for Negrete (R3) and has it the same ultimate score as us by a third route, 29-28 Negrete.

 

This actually is a terrific card for a Thursday Night Fights show, just occurred to me.

Not the Marlen Esparza part, but the main doubleheader.

 

Round 4

Negrete is pressing in, jabbing and working into a froth of leather off the jab. Franco is kept on the backfoot, where he is less effective but still hurling the kitchen sink in retaliation, just not able to get any snap or leverage on his shots or keep Negrete's respect. Negrete steps outward to bait Franco and counters him with a couple of flush counter jabs, then resumes pressing forward landing hard underhanded body shots.

Round 5

Negrete is taking some wild fastball pitch lunges coming forward, missing. The ref calls for a break as Negrete almost dives past Franco, but Franco pops him in the nose with a sneaky right, but softly enough it doesn't scramble Negrete's circuits or anything. Ref probably did see it but lets it go without a warning, it was so weak that it could be argued that Franco tried pulling it but couldn't halt the momentum. Negrete is barking as he throws overhands with both hands, lapping his inner forearms like waves on the hull of Franco's nape as the latter bends forward and swoons from side to side while pinched in the middle. Franco making himself difficult to find with head shots, but isnt' generating much offense. Negrete backs him up with a left hook rising from a crouch while peppering the body.

Round 6

Negrete lands a rabbit punch as Franco ducks in front of him, then lands a nice legal hook moments later. Franco starts to pump out a very stiff jab at mid-range as they circle on their respective toes. Negrete starts to slam down with hard overhand rights, missing or banging the clavicle, but eventually finds the mark with it after some wrestling clinches parlayed off sloppy misses, rocking Franco slightly and forcing him to initiate the next clinch. Flush left hook in an exchange by Negrete, as he's steamrolling forward. Franco in retreat, tries a wild desperate uppercut and misses while leaping away from the ropes.
