Judah is scheduled to fight a tune-up bout in July 16 at the Prudential Center. His opponent hasn't been named yet. Gary Shaw has been calling Judah a ducker because he refused to accept a bout with Bradley in July 17 on HBO.
Gary Shaw is a jackass. Judah doesn't deserve a fight with Bradley anyway, but to start using the duck-word is ridiculous in this instance. And I can't stand Judah, but still.
Shaw's a clown. I respect judah's decision to try and build back up to be a worthy challenger at 140. I mean as many faults that judah has, avoiding tough fights has not been one of them. He knows like everyone else that he has been in some tough fights in the last few years and starting slow and getting a couple of fights under him before jumping in to deep water is not a bad idea. He might be all done on the the elite level, but he's smart for trying to give himself the best shot at getting back close to there.
Zab Judah versus Paulie Malinaggi would still sell well in New York. I know it won't happen in July, but it's something both guys could consider.
If you put those two as the main event and added some younger New York fighters (Jacobs, Mean Joe Green, Pete Quillen, etc.) I bet it would do good business.
I would rather see Paulie vs Judah in a competitive fight than watch Bradley jump all over his ass for about 5 rounds.
Didn't he call his last fight a tune-up? Wasn't he on the same card as Casamayor? Am I imagining that? WHO AM I ANYMORE
I don't know how his last fight could qualify as anything but a tune up, the guy barely had a winning record. Just barely.
I don't understand what his deal is Why even bother calling out Devon Alexander after the Urango fight? That may be the last time we ever see Zab on HBO
