Zab Judah vs. Kaizer Mabuza RBR

Mackey's trainer is some old Chinese dude who is having trouble getting him to focus despite yelling monotonously at him.

 

Round 6

They lean in together and neither does much work as they try and jockey for position. Mackey suddenly buries a hard right hook to the body and starts opening up. Simms answers back with his own body shots. Mackey keeps coming forward and working the right hook high and low (mostly low). A 3 punch combo from Simms. A 1-2 from Mackey. This is picking up a bit! Curling left hand from Simms slams into Mackey's guard. Mackey is laid up on the ropes and getting picked apart. Simms tries to slip his fists through the guard, and then goes over under and around it - one or two punches at a time, all economical and without losing his breath. Mackey wakes up again and starts launching some overhand lefts which Simms easily dodges.

Had Mackey kept it going from about the 1:30 mark that could have been his round.

Academic, anyway. At this point he would need a knockout and is NOT getting one with his complete lack of power and Simms' defensive skill.

 

Round 7

Simms pokes some straight right hands (?) through the guard and brings a left hook down to the body. Yes, Simms is now orthodox. He must be totally bored. Simms is actually still looking very smooth in this stance, very comfortable. It's just too bad he lacks two things (pop and killer instinct). He honestly does have anything else you'd want in the package, especially for a 39 year old. Mackey is trying to space himself out with wide outside steps and then charge in to catch Simms off-guard with left hands to the body followed by quick right hooks upstairs. Simms doesn't fall for it but Mackey keeps trying. Simms catches him with a left hook to the jaw. Simms is just stoning him. Right-handed 1-2's fly over right jabs and catch the southpaw flush.

Everybody applauds when "8th and final round!" is announced on the PA!! :rofl:rofl
