Zab Judah vs Lucas Matthysse HD vid ZAB beat a beast

Only saw the fight when it first aired. I had it 114 to 113 Judah.
Close fight, both looked unimpressive. Matthyse looked awful
early, and I think Zab was surpirsed by Lucas's chin. Zab showed
a lot of heart but was in survival mode after he got knocked down.
It could have gone either way, and Im a Judah fan so I was glad
That he won. If you scored it for Matthyse you could only
have him winning by a point realistically. Matthyse acted like
he put on a great performance, he didnt. Hes got a punch
and a chin. Zab came in drained and it was basically a junior
Welter fighting a welterweight. I wouldnt have argued if
Lucas got the win. Lucas said if the fight was in argentina
he would have won, well it was in America baby! Newark
prudential center. Give it up for Zab 114 to 113. Close
fight. Alexander fight was a robbery.

never claimed that Matthyse didnt win(against Alexander) but that **** was close. AKA not a robbery. i bet your hoe ass only seen highlights.

 

THis makes me think you didn't watch the fight. . Judah looked HORRIBLE in the first half of the fight. . He LITERALLY landed maybe 5 power punches over the first 4-5 rounds. . He was pawing a jab out, and missing. .

Matthysse was at least landing some shots to the body. . .

I scored this fight as accurately as possible. . Everytime there was a close round, I mentioned it. . . Zab only won 2 rounds decisively. . . Matthysse won 6 rounds decisively.

There's no way in hell Judah won 7 rounds. . none. . . LOL, talking about Judah sweeping the first five rounds. . . LOL x 1000.

 

The fanboyism on this forum is off the charts. Judah wasn't even touching Matthysse enough for there to even be an argument, unless you only watched the fight once, and were brainwashed by the HBO crew salivating over Judah's phantom jabs.

this was a close fight, 1-2 points either way is fair.

I didn't call names, I just stated a fact. Judah got a gift in that fight. After rewatching it I saw that Judah didn't land hardly any significant punches all fight, and even when he did land, his one two or three landed punches in a round was usually grossly outdone by Matthysse's body punching. By the way, I was more a fan of Judah than Matthysse at the time. I didn't even know who Matthysse was. Just calling it like I see it. As far as the high level of fanboyism here, I didn't call out names, odd you would react.

Fights like this are able to show who are fans of boxing and who are fans of fighters. If your a fan of boxing watching without bias you probably would not call this decision a 'robbery'. A robbery is where a fighter dominates a fight clearly winning at least nine of the twelve rounds and losing an outrageous decision.

I hadn't seen this fight so I used the YouTube link provided and just watched it. I had Matthysse winning the fight 117 - 111 which is 9 rounds to Matthysse (I scored the first round even). Now as I said I had Matthysee winning the fight and winning nine rounds but watching the fight I scored many rounds to Matthysse which I thought were close and an even first round which could have gone either way.

So even though I felt Matthysse won the fight I don't go on screaming about a robbery when there were a lot of close rounds that I could have scored to Judah.

All three judges also had the bout scored exactly the same: 114 - 113. Two for Judah and one for Matthysse which gave Judah the SD victory. When all three judges have the fight to one guy or the other by one point it leads you to believe the fight was a close and competitive one which this certainly was.

Anyone who thinks Matthysse won and anyone who thinks Judah won both have good legitimate cases to make, but anyone who calls this a robbery or feels one of the fighters "dominated" the fight are probably doing so as a fan of the fighter as opposed to a fan of the sport watching without bias.

Again to me a robbery is a fighter clearly winning nine of twelve rounds and losing a decision by horrible scores. In this fight I gave Matthysse 9 rounds but I recognise a lot of those rounds where close and could have gone either way, and the scores reflected the closesness of the fight being that they were all separated by a single point.

i watched the fight the date it happened. matter fact i got it saved on my PC. i never let commentary blind me. i take out a pen and paper and score the fight.

seems like people are quick to **** on Judah and dont think for themselves. just recycle bull**** from haters.

Having just rewatched it, and being able to rewind and review, I noticed Judah was shorting most of his jabs, and Matthysse was punching Judah mostly in the arms getting an occasional body shot through them or around them. Neither guy was landing much in terms of significant punches in most rounds. I favored Matthysse's gloves at least making contact with something, over Judah jabbing air. I thought Judah got a gift after reviewing it, as he hardly touched Matthysse all night. Matthysse didn't do nearly enough damage to cry robbery though.

 

Lucas won that.

 

i don't think robbery is the right word, but it was a def. matthysse win. i watched it again, and there was 6 rounds where there was no way u could not give lucas. if u tried ur hardest u still could only have judah losing 114-113.

 

In other words, your too scared of the criticisms that you might get for saying Matthysse clearly won so you tried to cover it up with a load of bull****.

 

I wasn't sure whether I should reply to this or not but I will. I said that I felt Lucas won the fight and I said I had him winning nine of the twelve rounds so I don't know what it is you think I am not saying. As for being scared. Scared of what exactly? Someone disagreeing with my opinion of a bout? It's a boxing forum it's kind of why I post here, to have discussions as it relates to boxing.

My post made two points: I thought Matthysse won the fight and that people who call fights like these robberies are probably more fans of specific fighters then fans of the sport in general. Thats how I feel and if anyone disagrees then so be it, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
