Agree 100%. Not what I could call a flat out robbery but a win for Matthysse. Pretty good fight as well the crowd were a bit harsh.

In my opinion Matthysse's excellent body work is what won him the fight. I was actually surprised at how well Judah took the shots. Zab did well a few times with his jab but as you said for the most part he was just throwing it out there looking to set up a big left hand.

You've contradicted yourself though. Why say, if a fighter wins 9 of 12 rounds and the decision goes against them it's a robbery, yet this is a special exception, especially when one of those 9 rounds is a 10-8. Just doesn't make sense in the slightest. It shouldn't matter if there are 'close' rounds. As a boxing fan you should be able to pick who won the round or give it even if it was 'close', therefore I can't understand why you don't think it's a robbery if your scorecard was 117-110 (unless you gave one ever of course) just seems to me like you lack the confidence to say that it was a robbery considering you have Matthysse by such a long way.

Just a point. I'd expect those who have Matthysse winning and especially Matthysse by a wide margin, also gave Calzaghe the win over B-Hop and the same vice versa. May I ask what your scores where for that fight?

Funny people are just hoping on the Matthysse bandwagon. I have been following this kid for a while. He is very very good. He is not your typical slugger. His defense is getting much better as well. He is prone to starting late but when he does start he puts on some brutal body work.

Matthysse will be a champion soon. His life has been full of robberies. Alexander being the worst. Judah was a close fight but really Lucas deserved the win not Judah.

Not talking about me. . I been a fan of Matthysse for a while now. . .

    He's not a slugger, he's what I called a "technical puncher."

Fair enough. Just saying ESB acted like they didnt know about him but once he beats Soto a career SFW they go crazy. Dude showed the potential a long long time ago. Beating a former SFW didnt really do much for me.

yeah, i see what u mean..

but soto is a very solid, skilled boxer/puncher. . . "officially" it's his best win. . but he's really undefeated, and alexander is his best win, imo.

Lucas won't win a title anytime soon lol unless its vacant. Too many good boxers at 140-147. Soto was handling him.lol but you know how Mexicans are. I was like what the **** is he doing. Lol all he had to do is not trade.

Soto did momentarily hurt Matthysse in that fight.

Be interesting if somebody can repost the Alexander vs Matthysse fight in HD as well. Not sure how people can say Judah beat Matthysse more than Alexander did. At least Alexander landed real punches in his fight with the Argentinean.

Maybe I'm not making myself clear. The reason I don't call this bout a robbery is for two reasons.

    1. Even though I had Matthysse winning the fight and winning nine rounds in the fight, as I watched a lot of those nine rounds I gave to Matthysse I felt they where very close rounds. There were three in particular I gave to Matthysse that in my opinion could have gone to Judah. If someone else gave those rounds to Judah instead of Matthysse which is reasonable my scorecard all of a sudden becomes a lot closer then 9 rounds to 3.

    2. The other reason I don't call it a robbery is because the official scorecards where all as close as they could be without being a draw. They were all 114 - 113. One point. As I said when you have all three judges scoring the fight by 1 point it leads you to believe it was a close and competitive fight, which it was.

So to sum up what I thought I had already made clear:

In my opinion a robbery is a fighter clearly winning nine rounds and losing an outrageous decision. Even though I had Matthysse winning nine rounds I didn't think he won all nine clearly. The judges scorecards told the story of the fight: close and competitive even though they don't agree with my particular view of Matthysse winning the fight. That is why I don't call fights like these robberies.

I thought Lucas won the fight, but it just isn't what I view as a robbery. I don't know how many other ways I can say it. If you want to view what I feel is a robbery watch a fight like Joel Casamayor V Jose Armando Santa Cruz or Naoufel Ben Rabah V Juan Urango. These a robberies.

I haven't watched the Hopkins V Calzaghe fight since I saw it live so I don't have a scorecard for you but I do remember thinking Bernard edged the fight closely.
