zab had insane natural ability. top tier. but he was also very immature and lacked composure and insight.
I remember him sitting in the corner after round 1 against kostya tszyu, telling his old man that this was 'easy' after he had an electric round one. his father admonished him, and 3 minutes later he had lost the fight...

 

He was heavily hyped PRIOR to his self destruction of KT and Baldomir. After that, he really wasn't seen as anything but a bit dangerous opponent.

If one had seen him prior to KT, you might understand.

The sweet pea w/ power was a ridiculous tag, as his defense was NOTHING close to pea.

 

You have it in for Judah. I give you that his competition for his belts was soft. He wasn't exactly getting KO'd left and right though. He fought guys like Matthysse and Garcia while past it and showed heart, especially in the last 3 rounds vs Garcia.

Virtually every fighter who looks good early on gets hyped up. That's the promoters ad networks doing their job, to attract viewers. His level of opp prior to KT was fine for his level. NO ONE was really saying prior to the KT fight that zab was a hype job.

 

Judah was a good boxer at a time. Sure he drifted off but when Zab was on the scene, people watched. He put on exciting fights. Sure he lost to the big names (Mayweather, Khan, Cotto, Malignaggi, Garcia and Tszyu), but he liked to scrap

 

Mark Cuban clearly came prepared to embarrass skip with a question that he had a rehearsed answer for. Mark Cuban is a billionaire who's never played a sport in his life. He is a fan, nothing more

 

And if Skip knew basketball better he could have answered it and started asking Cuban about other defensive schemes they could have run or would have run if the Cavs adapted to their strategy.

Mark Cuban might not know any more, he might know lots more - I doubt a pundit takes a chance like that with him again. And some fans know plenty, you've defended Kellerman in this thread but he's little more than a professional fan.

 

I never said he wasnt. Unless you are a professional athelete so are you. I played baseball basketball and football through high school and I would never assume I know anymore about those sports than someone who's simply watched closely their whole lives

 

He played highschool basketball Cuban did not. You can absolutely be an expert without ever playing. I know you want to believe that's not true but it is

 

What makes you think Cuban hasn't been closely watching basketball his whole life?
