Judah has ALL the skills, BUT and it's a big BUT he doesn't have the mental strength to be an elite boxer! When the going gets really tough he will fold!
see, thats what i don't get about zab. he has a lot of bravado, talks a lot of smack, fights the best, loses, but still never gets the talk beaten out of him, he comes back all over again like a ****ing zombie as though nothing has happenned
What stopped him from having Mayweather out of there?..lol almost.. Oh, I get it.. he did not have him almost out of there and he just landed a good shot like what happens in every good fight. :rofl
Very fast and athletic, but lacked mental toughness in my opinion. He also didn't have the greatest chin in the world. I personally feel after Roy Jones and Ray Leonard, he was the most physically gifted fighter in the last 30 years. He performed well in the rematch against a Prime Spinks, but against other top tier or good opponents he didn't respond to their power or pressure well at all. Spinks didn't have the power or pressure to bother him so he was able to fight in a comfort zone he didn't get in some other fights.
Yea I guess he thinks he is better than he is...there is a thin line between him and the very top of the pack and he strikes me as someone who probably does great against ANYONE in sparring but in a fight it's a different thing. Zab = slightly delllusional
A great fighter, but his lack of physical conditioning and focus during training shows in the fight. He gases out 2/3's way through the fight. Needs to increase his work-rate too. Has a great counter left uppercut, but I wish he had more special punches.
He does well when his opponent can't punch. I can see him knocking out Malignaggi but against a Berto or Khan, its tough to see him winning.
Never rated him as a fighter, always thought he was a glorified, overrated, b-level talent. He's got speed, great power and decent accuracy and timing, but it ends there. He's got poor stamina, poor temperment, an awful sense of tactics/gameplans (non-existent), has average/poor punch resistance and cannot deal with pressure, has no ability to adapt to an opponents actions and has a predictable punching pattern. He also has a poor attitude (See Corley fight). He is the perfect example that speed and power will only get you so far. That's why his most meaningful win is over Cory Spinks, and his record against top fighters is mostly in the negative. I will say, however, that he has never shirked a challenge. Zab always wants to fight the best, and he always strives to make these fights for one reason or another. The only ducking he does is inside the ring.
3-times JWW champion and undisputed WW champion. Not bad for a fighter who is pure garbage according to you. You want overrated: Joshua Clottey. Won a razor-thin TD to a natural JWW who was on a long losing streak to win the vacant IBF belt, with a 20 pound weight advantage! 0 defenses.
Not pure garbage, just not that good, and has never really put together wins over several quality opponents. He was hyped pretty big, and has often recieved fights he arguably didn't deserve, like Floyd after losing to Baldomir. Clottey is no Sugar Ray, but he's never really been hyped.
The Floyd fight was signed before Baldomir. He has beat quality opponents and he did better against Mayweather than Mosley, Hatton, Marquez and he was coming off a loss which shouldn't be overlooked.
