Given his tremendous physical gifts, is zab Judah the biggest waste of talent in the last 10 years?

Tyson Fury is, fighting bums over there for easy money when he can easily dominate this heavyweight era.

World title holder at 140 and 147 and is fighting for another belt at 140 next.

I think he has had a very good career, certainly not wasted.

A smart fighter who has less physical gifts is just as much wasted talent as a dumb fighter who has more physical gifts.

I'd say that for his overall ability, Zab is far from wasted talent.

Wasted talent is someone like Marquez, who didn't get enough big stage opportunities in his prime to showcase how good he really was, and got the short end of the stick when he was on the cusp of those big opportunities.

He's not a waste of talent, I think talent as a fighter includes mental toughness, which he clearly lacks. He's had his arse handed to him VS any elite fighter (apart from mayweather) and even much lesser fighters like Baldomir.

he should have left his father as a trainer a long time ago...zab also is stubborn outside of the ring...although he's matured lately but his talent has faded

to me it seems like zab does stupid things. like how he kinda hit baldmorir b4 the fight when the ref told them to touch them up. and how the whole mayweather thing played out. zab should of been able to beat josh clottey if he would have trained like hes fighting floyd everytime he coulda had a way better career.

Zab would never beat Josh Clottey. He looked to me like he had a hell of a training camp. Clottey is hands down a better WW than Judah.

Depends which way you look at it I guess, I mean can you be a wasted talent when your biggest Achilles heel is a flaw in your overall talent?

I mean its like saying, if Judah had the mental make up, but that's what makes one fighter better than another in some instances, their mental fortitude, if you aint got that to complement your skill, you might appear like you have unfulfilled potential, but I think possessing mental fortitude can be considered a part of your overall ability as a fighter.

Each individual ingredient makes up part of your overall effectiveness as a fighter imo.

There was a 15 pounds weight difference between Clottey/Cotto and Judah on fight night. That's 2 weight classes.

How is he a waste of talent when he was a multiple world title belt holder and lineal WW champion? That is quite an accomplishment.

Are you saying he has the attributes to be one of the ATG? Physically he might well possess potential ATG attributes, but that alone isnt enough. You have to possess mental ATG attributes as well. It is the rare guy that pairs these two things that attains the ATG status.
