If the fight goes the distance Clottey will win and he has a nice guard (ala Winky Wright) ... I don't know how much he averages but I know he threw a **** ton of punches against Margarito. Another thing about Clottey is he's always coming forward and he has a great chin ... I heard about him having endurance issues as of late ... I couldn't tell in the Cruz fight, but I haven't seen him that much ... Magarito, Corrales, Cruz --
i think clottey will be looking at the cotto fight. zab does not like the body shots. if zab shows up like he did when he fought mayweather i think he will when a decision. do you guys think zab can get his respect.
But the interesting thing is, Clottey gasses horribly after 5 also and has chronic hand problems. He's also by no means a 'pressure fighter'. It's truly Judah being the favourite, IMO, but Clottey certainly can win and has a great chance, but I feel he'd need to get in some good damage early, if Judah gets a lead and they both gas, then you have two gassed fighters and Clottey lacks the 1 punch power to put Judah away.
i think if it goes points zab will build up a early lead may be pull out the first 5 rounds then maybe one or 2 later
I don't know if he can hurt him, Clottey's shown a good chin but has been buzzed a few times by lesser punchers. I think the fights going to decision either way, Judah is easy to hurt but difficult to stop. But people picking Clottey, hope for some early damage, otherwise they'll both gas and it'd probably favor the mover(Clottey has shown he likes guys coming at him more than boxers).
That's the numbers from a different fight. Let's not compare Clottey to Cotto, other than being good inside technitions, Clottey doesn't even work his way in off of the jab and works behind the tight high guard like most African fighters do. Cotto keeps consistent pressure for every round against Judah, behind a very accurate jab and never relents, that's why the numbers were so low. Clottey on the other hand CAN pressure, yes, but he himself drops after 4-5 rounds in numerous fights, most of the time, worse than Judah does against low quality opposition. It's comparing two different fights. You don't need a high workrate to beat Clottey, if you pick your shots well and keep him at bay, he's not really a big deal and is garaunteed to drop in stamina after a few hard rounds. But if you come at him and give him countering oppurtunity's, then Clottey is going to be in his element.
