I didn't watch this live, but I had the misfortune of watching it back. Parker did win, but it was an absolutely horrible, awful fight, far too much holding and wrestling. Buatsi looked far past his best. Not sure how Parker would've changed his daughter's life either? It wasn't an eliminator or anything; was it?

It was a 10-round undercard stinker against Buatsi, who is on his way down the pecking order anyway and was never elite in the first place. Parker is fresh enough to get a shot at the top level if he keeps his head down over the next couple of years, so there's definitely an overreaction here, but I am completely against the idea of fighters being interviewed on YouTube minutes after they climb out of the ring. Yes, he was robbed, but it's not like there was anything significant on the line; he will be back.

Unless you watch the fight through Stevie Wonder glasses or are a corrupt ref holding a brown envelope then it's a clear UD for Parker.

    I had it 99-91

8-2 or 9-1 Parker, very weird fight, I thought Buatsi scraped the second (though I would have scored it even if that was a thing) and you could argue the eighth (again, should be an even round really).

I didn’t score round by round, but cannot see more than 3 rounds for Buatsi which is generous in itself, even with warranted point deductions for Parker I would still have him winning. I can’t bring myself to rewatch, but I managed to stay invested in it to see there was a clear rightful winner, one of the worst I’ve seen this year for scoring.

It was a bizarre British card indeed.

We had robberies in favour of two fighters in Buatsi and Cameron who are clearly barely British level, all because it was decided they would win this time.

Neither Buatsi or Cameron is going anywhere so no real reason to rob their opponents. But it was decided in advance.

Buatsi has milked the British boxing establishment for millions over the years fighting at a low level. I still remember the mysterious injury he suffered when signing to fight that fringe world class Russian, which then mysteriously went away again when he was facing a US journeyman who stuck his chin out for him. When the Russian he was facing who was meant to be a stiff became the favourite, he pulled out. All strange stuff.

But if Promoters are that stupid then there will always be someone prepared to exploit that stupidity to the maximum.
