I think Calzaghe would beat the winner of Tarver vs Dawson easily, Pavlik is a much bigger challenge.

Yeah we wouldn't want Pavlik fighting Joe anytime in the near future, he might not win.

HBO making this fight, if you look what in front of both fighters in there respective divisions, neither needs each other for a good fight, you got tarver, dawson (who more dangerous then palvik), i like a glen johnson fight too,,,an palvik got sturm an abrahm, for starters, but lets face it palvik going to be stopped sooner rather then later so i think HBO going try to get a big PPV out of him, collect 30 million instead of ten, that the reason this fights being pushed

 

he'll lose a lot of his advantages in a move up to SMW, which is likely to happen as he gets older

 

Yeah Calzaghe isn't getting any younger this fight needs to happen pretty soon. End of 09 would be a bit late imo, Joe would be getting on, not that i necessarily think Pavlik would win but i'd rather see the fight with Joe as close to his prime as possible.

Kessler isn't that much smaller, height and reach wise, and obviously a lot more muscled up, as Kelly is a twig. Not that they are identical fighters but Kessler is a pretty powerful accurate, fast puncher.

IMO if anything is going to trouble Calzaghe it is Pavlik's high workrate.

 

Abraham for staters, sorry but palvik can't take a sold punch, the guys going to be KO'd. Hate to break the news to palvik fans, his P4P rating in ring is BS, the guys white hype, i love to see him in there with sturm, i see sturm out boxing the guy for 12 nice rounds, an with his chin maybe 12 round tko,,,an abraham, well lets say if palvik makes it in the 10th i would be shocked,,,,why on earth was palvik fighting lockett, hell cause HBO knows better,,,they need him for a good pay day

 

I'd like to see Pavlik clean out 160 first, to do that he needs to beat Wright and Abraham first, then if he gets past those guys Kessler should be the next logical choice... I honestly dont think Pavlik could beat Kessler and JC would make him look bad, as he'd slip that jab/right hand all night and school him with the southpaw jab and give Pavlik angles he's never even seen before. Pavlik's power wont be anything special at 168 either, he's a heavy handed fighter with a high work rate, which wont count for much if your swinging at air.
