Was a nice double left hook tbf. Only really (marginally) eyebrow-raising moment of the fight, though.

Maybe creating some drama where there isn't any.
I instantly recalled the horrendous "FROCHIIEEEEE! FROCHIIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!!!" thing from Rachel when I read this.

Or going back a little further (not sure if this is before your time), remember Chris Byrd's utterly distracting (and not for the right sort of reasons) wife Tracey? :shakehead:

Few nice combos while having Martinez at the ropes. One was really good, Abdullaev going to the body with a jab or a 1,2 and then landing a looping right hook to the head. But Martinez still surviving.

This is nearly as boring and one-sided just as Kurbanov vs. Bonelli was, but the differences are twofold:

    1. Abdullaev is a VASTLY superior boxer to Kurbanov, so his combos are prettier and landing with crisper precision.
    2. Martínez, to his credit, is doing slightly more than just attempt to survive - hence the more frequent round-trips onto the canvas, and he did land a tasty counter left hook to end the fourth round which sort of went unnoticed as it came moments after he suffered the second knockdown.

See what I mean? Every now and then Martínez actually rushes in (during the lulls in Abdullaev's offense) and rips him with big hooks or windsail rights, making his (still overall pretty negative) performance less outright cowardly IMO than Bonelli's. Very few get through, and whatever does barely registers an effect...but...that is to be naturally expected. Guy is a blown-up super feather..

Oh man...am I hallucinating or did HMS just put in a decent argument for having won the seventh? Or at least making it conceivably 10-10? Abdullaev was in control the first minute-plus, but Martínez closed out with a really strong ninety seconds pressing the issue and landing on the body.

    Round 7: 10-9 Abdullaev close

Martinez having some success lately, landing a few "bombs" on Abdullaev who looks buzzed for a second, still won the round with his accurate work earlier.

69-62 after seven (I gave Martínez the seventh as basically a pity round), but Abdullaev came out and dominated with his 1-2, now 79-71 Abdullaev through eight.
