So, now that that "other guy who had a welter belt": Hlathswayo, is out of the picture, Zavec and Cotto seem to be at that point in which a fight could be made. I don't know anything about Zavec but for each of them there is something big to gain.

Zavec: Fighting Cotto is his chance to jump into the limelight and he has an IBF strap now.

Cotto: If he would beat Zavec, it gives him a belt and the fight doesn't seem to be as hard as a Margo or Mosely rematch. This fight could make Cotto decide on whether or not he stays true to his "2 more fights and I'm out" idea.

So, what about a fight between them in MSG on Puerto Rican Parade Day? Also, what does Zavec bring to the table as a fighter and how do you see a fight vs Cotto playing out?

Sounds good, either a jump into the spotlight for Zavec or a jump back for Cotto.

This match actually makes perfect sence.

But the question is has Cotto recovered mentaly from the Pacquiao fight?

    I'll go with Cotto.

Yea, was thinking about it and this fight made perfect sense to me. If Cotto would lose, I think he would be headed towards a final farewell fight. Cotto is too proud imho to remain fighting as a solid gatekeeper level guy.

He would be stripped of his belt as he has to fight Jackiewicz next.

I'd like to see Cotto vs Hatton next. It could be marketed as a clash of Pacquiao's victims on their comebacks. I only say this because Hatton says he wants to go out with a war and I'm sure Cotto will give him a war.

Would be good for both.. Cotto would probably win the fight, rebound, get one of the bigger belts and be back in the mix.

For Zavec it would be a huge fight on the big stage and if he should pull of the upset he would be in the mix for the big fights.

Sounds good to me....I just hope Cotto doesn't become Manny's ***** by
    attending his Birthday bash !!!

I think he will lose a mental edge if he does....

I would rather Cotto take a fight with a complete nobody just to test the water. Then a fringe contender. I worry about this guy after the Pac fight. I always liked him and I want him to be careful finishing his career up.
