One of the biggest problems with Mayweather's legacy is his lack of great opponents. No doubt he has faced tough fighters but who has been great? Hearns/Hagler/leonard Ali/Frazier/Foreman... etc... Mayweather? NOBODY..he always had Pac but always ducked him. A 0 MEANS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING without ****yzing the competition. After all, Agieri and Bradley were undefeated until Manny beat them, what did the ZERO do for them?

DLH faced some of the stiffest competition ever - young mosely, whitaker, hopkins, trinidad and even old went on to face mayweather and pac. DLH had losses but man, these opponents were hell. Mayweather has faced LITTLE compared to DLH. Yes, he faced an older DLH and guess what? almost lost. That fight was close and some thought DLH won. So he struggled with a past his prime DLH, how would he have fared against a prime DLH? most likely, lost to him and lost to young Mosely and whitaker and trinidad etc... castillo gave MAyweather hell, who is castillo? Looking at his resume, it's pathetic, who has he beaten? Hatton? Canelo? maidana? judah? past his prime mosely? guerrero? ortiz? seriously? Marquez and DLH are arguably the best fighters Mayweather has faced in his entire career... One was past his prime (again, almost beat him), the other was a counterpuncher who had to go up in weight, a stylist nightmare for JMM.

by cherry picking and ducking you can preserve a 0 loss record but it's meaningless. What is the best example of cherry picking? Well, when mayweather created a poll to see who would get more votes between Khan and Maidana and after Khan won, he still picked Maidana (the slower, less skilled opponent) lol..

For the first time he will face a great and i expect he will taste defeat. Kudos to him for taking the fight, he succumbed to pressure. Floyd can win but i honestly wouldn't be shocked at all if Manny not only wins, but wins easily. Way too much weight is being given to that meaningless ZERO.

Canelo a great? LOL... he's a nobody! he is expected to do well, but a great? please...

the others are nobodies... Corrales was tough but not a great. DLH and JMM are the best he has faced.

Again, i'm not saying he's faced easy opponents, they just have not been great. Had DLH cherry picked, he could've ended his career undefeated but he chose to face the best and he faced much tougher competition. Whitaker, Trinidad, Hopkins, young Mosely make floyd's past opponents look like amateurs.

Leonard/Duran/hagler/Hearns could've all remained undefeated without facing each other and cherry picking. Ali could've cherry picked and ended undefeated...

Floyd has NOT faced great competition, period. Pacquiao was his man, he ducked him. Now we will see...

So Oscar's best win being Whitaker is worse than Floyd's. I mean Whitaker was passed his prime and there are way more people who thought that De La Hoya lost that fight than the what you're claiming about Floyd vs. Oscar. Floyd is doing the same as Oscar and facing the best now that he is old. I don't get your point...

i said they were tough, not great.... it's the truth. My comment on Canelo was a bit of an exaggeration but i put him in the tough category. Plus, he's not fast, which is what Floyd mostly avoids.

Mosely was past his prime brother, end of story.

Floyd almost lost to a DLH that was pst his best, by several years. How would've Floyd fared if he would've faced Trinidad, Whitaker, Hopkins, young Mosely? probably would have 3 losses.....

the guys he has fought have seriously lacked greatness. Hatton? for crying out loud, look at what Pacquiao did to that dude... made him look like an amateur boxer.

no... but that's because Pacquiao is a great - 8 division world champion, a record. Plus, even putting his accomplishments aside, he's super fast, has heavy hands and is incredibly talented. He has the skills and the record... some have the record (Algieri and bradley were undefeated as if recently) but not the skills. Canelo is overhyped because of his marketability (good looks, mexican fan base) and he's good but he's not particularly fast with his feet or hands; for me, this is important. He looked useless vs Floyd diue to his lack of speed. No way do i see Floyd making Pernell Whitaker, Trinidad, Hopkins, young Mosely looks this bad. Catch my drift?

i know some think this is just 'Floyd hating' but i actually enjoy watching Floyd fight and i also highly respect how he has managed his career. No matter what you say, he's been a genius managing his career but part of it has been cherry picking and being very careful. HE He avoided Khan like the plague, avoided Pacquiao for years.... He's picked fighters considered tough (Canelo) but knowing they lack speed or overall skills. The way he avoided Khan was classic... 'Whoever wins poll is my next opponent' Khan wins and then 'I'll fight Maidana' lol

Pac is a hype job of the highest order and he is about to realize that when he faces true greatness. He has never faced a more complete fighter than Floyd Mayweather. No excuses. All those BS moves that Pac got will be nullified. Nothing special about Pac.

floyd beat JMM easily whilst Pac struggled but let's talk about their 3 other mutual opponents:

Cotto - Pacquiao ANNIHILATED Cotto, embarrassed him for 12 rounds until he could take no more. Mayweather and cotto was a tough, tough fight...

DLH - Pacquiao ANNIHILATED DLH for 8 rounds. It was so humiliating that Nacho threw the towel in. Mayweather almost lost to DLH, SPLLIT DECISION

Hatton - Mayweather dominated him but took him 10 rounds to TKO him. Pacquiao DESTROYED HIM in 2 rounds, put him to sleep ZZZZ

So, facing the same 4 opponents, Pac has had lower lows but higher highs. What does this tell you? When he's on, he can do things Mayweather cannot match, Floyd lacks the skills. If Pac brings his best, Floyd will not be able to match him, he can't.

    Avg Floyd > Avg Pac
below avg Floyd > below avg Pac
    best Floyd < best pac

if Pac brings his best, Floyd cannot win. If Pac is below his best, Floyd has a better chance of winning
