Martin Rogan from belfast northen ireland with a record of 12 wins (6 KO) 0 losses. I realised how quick this guy went from zero to hero in his career and how much heart he showed by fighting oppositions of that calibre this early in the careers.

On 11th april 2008 Martin rogan entered a mini Contender tournement, along with 8 other boxers, winning three, 3 round fights and coming 1st place on that night. on one night he increased his record from 7-0 to 10-0. (how much experience cabn you really gain from one night in the ring?)

Then he got thrown into the deep end with audley harrison (ok audley isnt that good but compared to rogan on paper he's floyd mayweather) he showed a lot of heart and pulled out with the decsion. now 11-0.

But that wasnt enough, as if the promoters goal was to get him killed he was thrown in with matt skelton, former world title challenger. Rogan again showed incrediable heart and so much pressure he ultimatley broke skelton in the 11th round and sent him face first into the canvas, winning via TKO, stopping a guy that had never been stopped before.

Rogan clearly lacks the skill, speed and intelligence of a sucessfull boxer labeling him a C grade boxer in the eyes of the world. but his heart is deffinately A grade. and I dont care who he fights next, I see him like the gatti of the heavyweights and deffinately worth watching, so he gets a lot of respect from me.

Rogan should be hooked up with Roger or Floyd Mayweather (Sr.) , possibly Manny Steward , maybe Freddie Roach for some first class training. That would improve his skill level which along with experience, seems to be the only things he lacks. His toughness and tenacity is inborn. The heavyweights today are a bunch of schmoes, and Rogan could take advantage of that.

Made a fan out of me. The guy is older than me and is doing his thing. He use to be a Gaelic football player before taking up boxing. What a story. A cinderella story.

its so frustrating watching someone with all the skills in the world go into the ring only trying not to lose (i immediately think the last six rounds of odlh v. trinadad). so its a breath of fresh air to see someone who knows he isnt the most gifted boxer and just doesnt give a **** and will go toe to toe with you regardless. (i'll spare everyone the entire rocky speech from rocky 4 at the foot of the steps where he says drago's gonna have to kill him to beat him) very entertaining fight to watch
