A good fighter but not world class, I think he will be stopped in a fight with someone from the top if he gets a chance for such a fight...

Been looking forward to seeing him again ever since he smoked German prospect Smakici. Sokolowski is the perfect opponent to gauge a prospect’s ceiling.

10th round stoppage. Fairly impressive. At the very least he's got power and is definitely a HW to look out for from here on out.

What is he a throwback to, though?

EE HW prospects like him seem fairly dime a dozen in recent years. Some pan out; some don't. He might; he mightn't.

If he's a pretender he's a bit higher up on the totem poll. Stopping Sok is no easy feat. Hope about Shawndell Terrell Winters next? He has a knack for fighting and exposing EE prospects. I'm sure he'd jump at the opportunity to fight Zhan. If Zhan passes another truth serum test in impressive/decisive fashion it will probably be time to start taking him seriously.

In all fairness he has already beaten Machimana, who himself has good wins over Corrie Sanders and Danie Ventner.

He looked a bit flat and had no real urgency before the final round. I'll give him a pass because of the lockdown, but his conditioning should be better. His power seems to be real, Sokolowski was really negative (way more than against Whyte a few years ago) and was clearly worried about the lead hook to the body, he had his lead elbow glued to the body everytime Zhan came a bit closer.
In the end it could have been worse, just look at Sirenko who got badly hurt by a journeyman in the first round of their fight.

I caught up with the Sirenko fight at work last night and wasn’t completely shocked by that. He’s way to easy to hit and at this this level that’s not a good sign.

Koss on the other hand looks quite clumsy in his approach with his feet all over the place at times. He has strength for sure but finesse and ring IQ I’m not so certain.

Zhan looked better in his other pro fights and in his amateur fights, but it's hard to deny that he looked clumsy in this one...

I’ll give him a pass considering the pandemic and that he was in the ring with tough old Kamil.
That Smakici KO is one of my favourites.

That’d be a perfect step where he’d definitely be tested. Be able to see what kind of level he’ll reach after that.

What disappointment he is. With Hrgovic and Joyce stinking it up, and Yoko already serving a PEDS bust and clearly not that good himself, the double-bronze man had a chance to step in and be the sleeper prospect.

But indeed, where is he? Even before Covid we were asking.
