I don't remember them getting the same amount of ridicule the Hrgovic is getting. And neither of them had the entire top 10 in the ranks ducking them and thus preventing them from proving themselves.
TBF though, I still think Hrgovic's record is worse than Ortiz's though. Hrgovic best win is Molina who even Babic beat. That's not as good of a win as even the likes of Jennings or Tony Thompson who both fought for titles.
I heard the first time of Hrgovic around 5 years ago or so here on this board. When I checked his boxrec yesterday, he had only 14 fights and his best win is Molina. I have never seen him fight but it doesn't seem like he has a good management and promoter. When I hear about him on this board, I think people talk about the next Mike Tyson. He has a really poor resume for the hype he gets among hardcore fans because I doubt any casual knows who he is and will most likely not know him either. I doubt he will ever become a big star becausw he has wasted many important years.
No one here should say anything negative about Zhang. He's the one IBF heavyweight contender who is a true ring warrior, not a craven pampered prima donna like Parker and Ruiz.
Holy **** this guy is ****ing 38 years old and is only now stepping up? He's literally got a worse record that Hrgovic. Absolutely shocking that these two are any where near a title eliminator.
So why does a complete nobody get so much ridicule for something that more popular fighters got passes for in the past.
Zhang had an long and outstanding amateur career. He turned pro late. And Hrgovic is obviously talented, that's why he's been avoided. These two deserve the final eliminator and an IBF title shot more than Hunter, Parker, Ruiz and Ortiz.
Nah I think you should have to fight someone of note. The best fight either of them have had between them was Molina. Molina!!! Surely they could have at least fought Takam or Wallin?
If they had fought either of those two, you'd still complain. Lighten up. Zhang vs Hrgovic will likely be a fun fight, it's one I'm looking forward to watching.
TO be fair to Hrgovic he would have fought noteworthy opponent but they are ducking him. Being reported that they have gone down the IBF rankings 3 times before someone finally accepted in Zhang.
I kind of agree, but my point still stands I don't see why Hrgovic or zhang deserve to be fighting for a mandatory spot. Their are more proven fighters out there who probably deserve it more. How does beating Molina make you good enough to become mandatory? Should Babic get a shot now because he finished Molina off quicker than Hrgovic? Babic for mandatory everyone!!!
Hrgovic has a rock for a chin and has never been down as an amateur or pro. And he was hit hard in some matches. You don’t know what your talking about.
