I only caught the last few rounds and saw Zhang do absolute nothing and gassing badly. He also showed a lack of killer instinct when Hrgovic was turning his back and walking off, should have knocked him out then.
The knockdown shoulndt even have been counted and when they did they should have counted the knockdown on Zhang aswell. Hrgovic won the knockdown round for me aswell.
Very much so... Both had some amateur pedigree, but nothing significant whatsoever as pro's - Hrgovic best win was Molina, Zhang's god only knows they're all completely irrelevant. It's literally only the fact that Zhang then beat Joyce twice that makes either of them remotely relevant - aka gives fuel for the hype.
It was a very close fight. I actually had it a draw. However compare the fighters since then. As of tonight Zhang will have had 3 fights against top 10 opponents while Hrgovic has fought nobody inside top 30. Hrgovic is proving to be a massive disappointment.
The avoided fighter is a myth. He's not willing to do what it takes, realistically that's always why.
Nice try. Close fight doesn't mean it's not a robbery. Zhang won that fight, by 1 or 2 rounds. Best case for Hrgovic with a bit bias was a draw. Every time Zhang connect Hrgovic was looking to the ceiling. Zhang shot was hurting Hrgovic, while Hrgovic never bothered Zhang. Clear example of one guy landed the more punches, but the other one landed the clean, crisp and more meaningful one, that hurting him, and Zhang was doing it consistently. Most of Hrgovic shot was either blocked or partially blocked.
Some people thought Vitali won even though his face was coming apart. Some people think Wilder won even though he was getting his butt kicked. Imagination does strange things.
To close a fight to be called a robbery that's true. I had Hrgovic edging it, he simply outworked Zhang down the stretch, but I wouldn't of been upset had it been a drawn or been scored for Zhang. We really needed a rematch because the fight was too close to conclusively say who was better.
The thing is Zhang was turning 40 soon with severe stamina problems. Hrgovic on the other hand was hyped as if he is the next Mike Tyson.
I had Hrgovic winning 114-113 Zhang had more standout rounds, but he also gassed badly in the 2nd half of the fight and Hrgovic just about done enough for me. The reason why people branded it a robbery is because Hrgovic was supposed to be next big thing, and he looked very beatable against an almost 40 year old who had done nothing remarkable as a professional up to that point. With hindsight Hrgovic's chin and bravery look alot better and it's a solid win for him now.
What? If you're going to comment on this fight maybe you should watch the entire thing. Or can I say I only caught the last few rounds of Khan vs Maidana, so Maidana was robbed?
No F way. I actually saw that fight. Zhang knockdown was not legit either. If it was then Hrgovic knockdown should have been counted aswell. Hrgovic landed much more jabs and power punches during the fight. Zhang is just an old tired fatso who doesnt have the energy to put up enough punches to win rounds. Same against Parker. But at least those knockdowns were legit.
