He doesn't lay a finger on him. Styles make fights, when you have a guy who's slow as molasses throwing his chin into your fists repeatedly, he's making it easy on him. As much as I love Juggernaut Joe and wanted him to win, he's always sucked at fighting southpaws, and was tailor made for him. However.... as we all saw with Jerry Forrest, a SOUTHPAW, with crappy defense, once he got the rhythm of Zhang, He walked his ass down and beat him senseless. Zhang was utterly helpless to do anything about it. Sure you can say he had anemia, liver failure and was dehydrated, yeah well.... he seemed perfectly fine early on when he was dropping Forrest thrice. It was the relentless pace that Forrest set that brought about that internal meltdown. A match against Usyk wouldn't look dissimilar, only without the early knockdowns and with a late stoppage victory for the Ukrainian. Be logical, beating a literal punch magnet by KO, isn't the same thing as beating a man who's faster than you, and better at doing virtually everything than you. Now all of you loons who are madly in love with flavor of the month Zhang, get a grip and come down off of cloud nine, the air is getting very thin up there and you're losing more and more brain cells by the minute.

You can't just gloss over this like that, of course it won't show as much early on in the fight. The fact that Zhang actually survived the fight while suffering from all of that is insane. Kidney failure is incredibly dangerous. Guy was dying in there and still made it through 10 rounds.

You left out the big If....

....IF he ever lands a flush headshot.

That's a big IF with Usyk

Yeah I can, because the dehydration and kidney failure was brought on by the ass whipping. There's no way in hell he was that bad off before the fight. They'd have never let him in the ring and he certainly wouldn't have looked as spry as he did.

I wonder what could possibly cause such issues to a athlete?

Oh boy here we go :ohno

Correct, had he dispatched Jerry Forrest early (which he nearly did), we would've never heard of his "deficiencies"

I like both guys but if they ever fight, I'm backing Usyk like I always do. Zhang has no hope in hell of outpointing Usyk, and unless Usyk's elusive skills have taken a bad nose dive, I just don't see Zhang hitting him enough to take him down. Zhang's best hope would be causing a bad enough cut on Usyk to get it stopped, which is doable but not something that can be counted on.

Hope it happens. Not super optimistic about Usyk-Fury getting made, so in lieu of that I'd settle for Usyk fighting a few big punching mandatories.

Yall love to give exaggerations as if Usyk has not taken punches from his opponents. He boxed up gassiev but still got rocked by a big punch. People said he was gonna run circles around Tony Bellew but still got touched up. Got touched up by chisora and Joshua.

Supposedly though 6'6 fast hands little telegraph Zhang won't lay a finger on him. The edge still has to go Usyk but syaing he won't get touched by Zhang is delusional

He may get touched, but did Gassiev, Joshua, Bellew, Chisora, or anybody else really hurt him? It just caused him to back off for a few seconds then get back to work.

For Zhang to knock him out, he's got to do what no fighter has been able to do: land enough to do serious damage. Maybe he can, but we can't determine that by watching him hit a 6'6" stationary punching bag two fights in a row. He hit Hrgovic, but the only knockdown was more of a pushdown.

The only one close in the realm of power is Joshua, but likely doesn't hit as hard as Zhang. So sure that's the question, can Zhang land hard enough to change the tide? He may or may not, but saying he definitely won't is hyperbole. He could pull it off and that's why it would be an interesting fight

Usyk isn't a standing target that will let Zhang unload constant bombs.

Zhang doesn't have a great engine.

Usyk has problems in the first few rounds when Zhang is sharp, but avoids any glaring punishment then ups the pace as Zhang starts to slow after 6.

Zhang "could" KO anybody but I don't think he will do it to Usyk. Even though his punches come quickly, they are thrown in a fairly predictable manner. It's going to be real hard to land them clean on Usyk who will be turning him and who will be looking to counter with his own fast hands himself.

Totally agree Zhang is not a good body puncher, his feet are slow, and he has a suspect gas tank. In what world does Zhang beat Usyk ? Usyk would run rings around him with his angles/movement and has Zhang totally gassed after 6 rounds.
