joyce defense is slightly better than homer simpson. his head is a magnet for overhand rights, he just hasnt faced a team that knows what theyre doing. sooner or later, he will. im thinking the time is now. zhang has a powerful right hook, and straight left, neither of which he will have trouble landing. only question is whether he can crack joyce chin before joyce catches up with accumulation.
Like I said, you are off on the "home run part". But Zhang has the speed to... did you even read wtf I wrote?
i never pick an underdog just to be a contrarian, i do it because its what i see. and more often than not, im correct. i just dont see joyce standing up to what i expect zhang to put on him. joyce boxing is mediocre at best. he gets hype cause hes a brit and hes gonna sell tickets, so the media will do their part to build him up for the views. cause everyone in boxing eats from whoever sells. and most people dksab, so they just run with whatever the talking heads tells them. it benefits nobody to point out how mediocre he really is, so they put lipstick on the pig.
So you think Zhang is going to get him with some big, looping shots? * you did not read what I wrote. That or my English is just so incomprehensible.
i think he busts his eardrum with a right hook and puts him down with a straight left. thats pretty specific, and i say it so theres no mistaking how much i can see, or not see. we will see tomorrow how clear my vision really is.
Ah! There we go. My entire "counter argument" was aimed against what you said about landing a home run. Zhang isn´t the guy to land something big. He is fast and sharp. And I agree, Zhang should be able to land clean on Joyce like no one else in the pros has. Joyce usually sees the shots coming and is either able to embrace for them or to ride with them. What happens when someone hits him with something he can´t see?
Zhang's got sneaky skills, but so does Joyce. He's always been able to ride shots before, even if he takes a big one here and there. Combination of great chin and underrated ability to read opponents and take the sting off their best work.
I like your confidence here. Even if something only vaguely related to the above statement takes place I'll give you props.
Joyce makes pundits eat words more than he eats punches. His ring IQ is vastly underrated. He'll rely on the jab for the first half of the fight - akin to vs Dubois - and step up the pressure and output in the second. Yes, he eats a lot of shots but rides them too. He doesn't get hit cleanly nearly as often as he gets hit. Late stoppage as Zhang tires and then cue the 'Zhang was overrated' narrative the following day...
Depends on what his gameplan is. He's not going to win down the stretch so training to go all out in the first couple of rounds is probably the soundest tactic for him. He doesn't look fat so he's probably in a good position to make that happen if he can.
He started to outbox him and piece him up a bit, but he was hardly beating him black and blue. That's what Joyce will do to him Saturday night.
Yes, congrats, you see it. Joyce has massively underrated defence for the type of fighter he is. That's why I picked him to beat Dubois when so many were falling into the old trap of thinking Joyce was too slow and hittable to take Dubois's shots. Parker made people fall into the same trap as well. Personally I think this upcoming fight is one of the easier to predict in Joyce's career. The main selling point for his critics this time round being can he take Zhang's punches? Well he probably can, but he's also not probably going to let Zhang land them.
