Southpaw, fast hands, good power, good chin, very dangerous for the first 4 rounds but runs out of stamina and power after that and also peaking in their late 30s.
Good comparison although I would rank Sanders handspeed way faster than Zhang but Zhang has a better chin.
Have you seen how fast he bombed Joyce in the last round? He landed those heavy lefts like a Gatling gun.
Zhang has power and speed no doubts. I still remember how was hard for Hrgovic's chin in the fight he clearly robbed to Zhang. One of the biggest robberies ever. The problem of Zhang is he fights still, he has no footwork so with a fighter like Usyk he has few chances to win for several reasons I dont stay to explain in this thread but you can imagine.
Zhang will always fare well against stationary opponents. His stamina is his downfall. If he can't stop you within 5 he is losing on the card.
Exactly what I was thinking watching th3le fight lol. It's an unpopular opinion probably but I do think Zhang is a bit better than Sanders.
Sanders' handspeed was unbelievable. That's how he KO'd Wlad in 2 and hurt Vitali in 1st. No one could repeat that to K-brothers in 100+ more fights combined. Zhang is clearly slower but he has excellent power and good skills. And questionable stamina, like Sanders Both were mismanaged badly until late 30s when they finally got big fights.
It's an interesting comparison. Zhang has better technique and probably a better chin, but I'm not sure that's enough to counter Sanders' better athleticism and footwork and (IMHO only slightly) better handspeed. Contrary to some posters above I'm not sure Sanders' hands are that much faster. Sanders loaded up more on the LH and it was amazingly fast, certainly way faster than if Zhang tried the same shot, but I think Sanders' natural athleticism had a lot to do with it, and Zhang's shorter punches are very fast and crisp too.
I've seen both in person, and this isn't the right comparison. Zhang is a composed giant who does everything smoothly and textbook, but he has no handspeed. Corrie was more a warrior who had fast feet and lightning fast hands. He'd make the crowd gasp when he missed a big punch. Corrie was big, but not like Zhang.
Zhang fights like a tough man competitor compared to Sanders. Sanders has the superior skills in almost every regard - speed, rhythm, timing, punch selection, just about anything you can name, also equal power but Sanders has the far more dangerous power. I am shocked that so many can watch guys like Zhang, Joyce, Wilder, Whyte, Joshua and not instantly see the vast gulf in ability when compared to Sanders - not even to mention the ridiculousness of comparing them to bonafide ATGs.
