Zhang on Hrgovic: They set up weaker boxers for him and in every fight he hits the back of the head.

    - When you look at Hrgovic's resume, he was awarded a victory against me when he reached the position of mandatory challenger in the IBF. After that, he had two fights with lower-ranked opponents because he is afraid of losing that position - said Zhang and continued:

    - He fought Demsey McKean from Australia for 12 rounds and kept hitting him in the back of the head. We can call him a professional hitter in the back of the head because in every fight, in every round, he hits the opponent in the back of the head. Yes, he knocked out Marko de Mori, but he also hit him in the back of the head because he does it all the time - claims Zhang.

He hit De Mori in the back of the head 6 times. Should have been DQ'd.

Big Bang is correct. Not sure what it is with Hrgovic but the rabbit punch seems to be his go to punch. His trainer needs to have a word with him as he could get DQ'd at a crucial time in a big fight.

Zhang ain't wrong though. Hrgovic is dirty mf. and Boxing should stop defending the "bigger" name in the certain fight, just because one of the guys is the A side or so.
The rules should be equals to everyone, whether your name is Canelo, AJ, Fury, Usyk or De Mori.

Hrgovic will have a tough time scoring points when he gets a ref that doesn't permit punches to the back of the head.

That appears to be his prime target area.

He did the analysis on McKean & De Mori & determined that the back of their heads was a point of vulnerability.

The shots thst crippled Mckean and Demori were long right hands/ hooks that hit em in the side of the head. He does seem to land rabbit punches when the opponent ducks or hes into close, as he doesnt throw enough uppercuts. Has to be careful but cant see anything intentional. He has landed them on Molina aswell but Molina was putting his head down like an amatuer.

Try not punch on back of the head when You heart Your opponent, You go with full power for finish and... Opponents turn around and try safe themself giving You their back...

Its not case that in Zhang fight on highest level he dont punch in back of the head. Zhang just dont try safe himself that way.

Filip is just a victim of hopeless selection of hopeless opponents.
Molina? Eric always try safe himself that way.
De Mori too. First hard punch and he turn back...
McKean also turn back but he use fauls all fight catching rope and clinching 80% of the time.
Just give dude boxers who dont react like this after being hit and problem will be solved.

And Zhang dont talk whole truth also in case of bad opposition Filip fight.
We must remeber that probably 7-8 big names from top 10-15 got official proposition to fight with Filip and take his mandatory position from him. All said "no".

Zhang is just angry because he think he was better and got robbed. No he was not better and he was not robbed.

Worst rabbit puncher since Bruno. He needs to cut it out Hrgovic.

The irony here being that the one that he knocked Hrgovic down with had a backish-of-the-head type quality to it.

    But yeah, he is right.

The KO's of Joyce were hilarious and now Zhang is bringing the funny critiques.
Just a shame Zhang can't KO AJ for us. That last KO of Joyce scared the heck out of Hearn, that's for sure. If Zhang had won by decision, AJ probably fights him instead of the mma fighter.

It doesn't look intentional to me. Hrgovic likes to mix in looping right hands around the guard with straights which can result in inadvertent rabbit punches when the opponent tries slipping to their right. Also when he has a free hand to work on the inside he'll throw a chopping right hand to the temple/jaw that can become a rabbit punch when they lower their heads. In both instances it's the response of the opponent that determines what happens.

I agree but I also can't remember the last time I saw a fighter deducted points for rabbit punching let alone a DQ. This allows fighters to use it tactically as they know they'll get multiple in before even a warning. Absolutely crazy when you think about all the other work being done in sport to protect the brain that rabbit punching is still seemingly viewed in boxing as gamesmanship.

The irony of all this is that while AJ fighting Ngannou is now a terrible fight, a minute ago he was being lauded by the Fury fanboys who are having to now use incredibly warped logic to try and justify his career choices. AJ shouldn’t be fighting Ngannou, but the real problem was Fury’s embarrassing performance against him.
