I guess most of the people who claim that Hrgovic got a gift decision over Zhang or that the chinese was robbed of a well-deserved victory have not really seen all 12 rounds of their encounter. It was a close fight which could have gone either way.... difficult to score....Zhang took some heavy shot, and so did Hrgovic.Yes, the croat's behaviour was weird and erratic at times. No doubt about it! Nevertheless,it wasn't neither a robbery nor a gift decision..A draw would have been fair in a dream world, but I for my part can live with the croat's point victory. Sure, his last performance vs McKean was quite poor, and his performance vs Zhang was not really that convincing either, but that doesn't mean that he won by a daylight robbery vs Zhang.Fairness where fairness is due: he did connect with more telling shots than Zhang and was a bit more active than the chinese . I wouldn't argue the toss with someone who scored the fight for Zhang, but all that blabla of a robbery or gift decision for the croat makes me mad. You may dislike Hrgovic, but at least watch the entire fight and score it fairly before claiming that it was an unfair point victory for the croat!
It was close. I had it 114-113 Zhang but it could have gone the other way. It was definitely not a robbery. From memory the knockdown was dubious too.
I don't have a problem with people having Big Bang winning - I think it was razor-close and he had all the big moments whereas Hrgovic outworked him. My issue is with the KD which really shouldn't have been counted as a KD. The result is considered controversial but that KD should be considered so too and it was absolutely crucial given how close the fight was. If you still had Big Bang winning despite that, fair enough This content is protected
Again. You score boxing round by round. New round = new story. In 9 of 12 rounds Hrgovic land more shots than Zhang. He was more active too because throw 300 punches more. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Faorp9SWYAAGq56?format=jpg&name=large Knockdown for Zhang was not propper too. It was illegal punch on back of the head with forearm. Hrgovic was better. That was hard fight for him but he was better. Reason why ppl think it was robbery? 1. People dont like Hrgovic very much 2. Commentary was just horrible (english). All for Zhang. Even punch replay 3. Zhang got more clear moments in fight when Filip was wobbled (that's stay in memory better than 10 shots from other site) 4. People expect Zhang should be easy fight for someone like Filip (again this happend in Joyce fight)
The night of, I scored the fight 115-112 for Zhang, but in retrospect that was too wide. Upon rewatching the fight I scored it 114-113 for Zhang, giving him rounds 1, 3-6 and 9. First time I also gave him 11, but a second viewing made me change my mind. He did hurt Hrgovic badly about half through round 11 but the amount of work Hrgovic did in the rest of the round was enough to cancel that out. That said, while I'm still disappointed with the decision, it was a perfectly fair one. Zhang completely gave away 2 and 10-12, Hrgovic did enough to clearly win 7 and 8 in my eyes so all he needed for a win was one of the rounds that could've gone either way. I think 4 and 5 were the ones I could've seen swinging his way. So, disappointed Zhang lost for sure, but it wasn't by any means a robbery. It was one of those fights that was so close either man winning was perfectly reasonable.
This was a legit KD. He got clipped behind the ear and zhang's gloves bounced behind his head. You can clearly see hrgovic's head bounce sideways before Zhang's gloves go behind his head. This is an impact
They gave it a UD to Hrgovic with two judges giving him 8 rounds... So, whilst I respect that you went back and changed your mind on how wide you scored it for Zhang. Those score cards were corrupt as ****
I thought Hyrgovic edged this fight, I think people have a problem with this result because the perception before was that Hyrgovic would win and they gave Zhang the edge in some rounds wanting the likeable underdog to pull off the shock win. It certainly was no robbery, just a very close fight.
Hrgovic knelt down, after he got up, his legs started to give out and he was unstable on them, the reason for that was that it surprised Hrgovic and maybe even scared him a little...
