Both are heavier because they intend to knock each other out, Zhang stated that he has no intention of going all 12 rounds or he might be robbed...

Yea I've said it before - guilty until proven innocent with PEDs in elite boxing but this is some of the most bare-faced roiding I've ever seen.

I do wonder how unsustainable/unhealthy it is; even with all the best sports scientists in the world balancing out your juice cocktails surely his heart/liver/kidneys/joints are all under serious pressure? Perhaps even burning the candle at both ends and accepting it'll give him problems in the future.

I get the thinking when it comes to Joe coming in heavier, and lighter most certainly wouldn't provide him any benefits here, but he did a bit much in my opinion. Between the career high weight (and by some margin) and the big punches he'll be taking from Zhang, I feel like we're gonna see him hit a wall for the first time. Then again, Zhang is also a good deal heavier so we could see him hit one early too. Just gonna have to wait and see. Not much longer now :ggg

Nqh skill wise Zhang is miles better. He has so much better defense and fundamentals, it's not even close. Zhang is also super fast for such a big man. On top of that he is tricky southpaw.

Joyce on the other hand is super slow, he had power, but more of accumulating one, not a massive one like Zhang, but on the other hand Joyce has cardio for days, and Zhang one is not a great one.

Yep, AJ, Joyce, Wilder, they just love to add lean bulk in short spaces of time, or just take it off too. Just like changing costumes. Whatever the fight needs!
But they're clean as a whistle!
At least when Fury puts on bulk he looks like a fat man who needs Ben Davison back on his team to delay heart disease.

Are you meaning to imply there's more at play there than just strong work ethics? :sisi1

Doing Roids obviously isn't 100% safety, maybe there isn't much risk with this Pros as they have top teams that knows what they are doing, but the real side effects and let's say it drawbacks comes years after you stop.
A lot of cancers are open from heavy steroids use. But hard to say really, as it's depends on genes, what stuffs exactly they are using.
But in this case Joyce is on heavy stuffs.
Keep in mind that gaining muscle mass for already a trained athlete is a lot harder, than for example a person that just starts, as the body reacts faster.
So in Joyce case this is laughable obvious what's going on.
25 f***** pounds in a f**** 5 months. And he is still very lean. And the guy have been training hard. I'm wondering how much the heck he was eating. :D

Anyway regardless of the obvious Juice, this is the fight i absolutely can't wait to see.
Absolutely banger, and to be completely fair everything can happen in that fight.

Still whatever the outcome is i think Joyce is absolutely getting the wrong advice and he is doing AJ mistake big time. Listening to people that have absolutely zero knowledge, even though someone labeled them as boxing "experts".
Advising him to come in heavier and make all the idi*** excuses in the world, like if his eyes wasn't close he would have won the fight, that he needs to be heavier and all kind of b.c.
Same people were saying before Zhang that Joyce is unstoppable force and is the second Foreman. And the same people after the fight start calling him a bum with no skills ..... And Joyce is listening to this people .....
And his manger and his team is beyond delusional.

Nah he's carrying a lot more fat now. Look at his midsection, in April he had a defined six-pack and his arms etc. looked way leaner than now.

Very poor choice by Joyce. I don't think it is possible for him to be slower so I doubt that will be affected, but his stamina and work rate will be.

    Joyce did a dirty bulk

He was 275 lean for Parker and tanked him

    Dropped 20 pounds overnight

    Peds are suspect also

Only idea coming to my mind about this decision to add soo much weigh on scale is that Joe plan make this fight dirty clinching, grabbing and pushing festival from first round just to try use stamina advantage.

He know he cant outbox Zhilei and if he will box on distance he will eat too many of this killer punch. Maybe he will try be as close as possible to not get heart and try tire him out with all this "dirty trick" believing that he with his good old "diesel engine" will have enough in later rounds to take the initiative.

Good move by Joyce coming in huge. He’ll be bigger, stronger and more durable at this weight. His only path to victory is if he can bully Zhang.

Nqh he is not caring a lot more fat now. He is caring more water. There is a big difference. And while he may as not be as ripped as it was 5 months ago, it's mainly muscle that he is gained, and that is impossible !!! Not even 0.000000001% chance of happening naturally or even close to naturally, aka with typical rat gym dosage.
    He is on heavy stuffs.

Make a difference between water retention and fat. And btw even with heavy roids you still can gain fat. Water retention is an obvious thing.
But there is million factors that i don't want to explain on here.

To be fair this is his best chance to win. The same thing comes to my mind as well. if Zhang and his team are smart this will also be on their mind as well, and they will be well prepared for it.
I think one of the problems though is that Zhang is still naturally bigger than Joyce. :D
