Joyce really only has one strategy he can use for the rematch. Make Zhang miss just enough times before he tires out in the second half of the fight. That said, it didn't seem like Zhang's left could miss last time.

He is right, one of the judges had Joyce infront, and the other had it close, like 1 round for Zhang or so.:D
The reality is something different though, but if it's for our guy, we forget reality.

Yeah Zhang got a lot of attention in China from the win in the first fight but that doesn't necessarily mean it translates into him being a draw on a scale in China that could financially match what Joyce/Zhang generates in a proven boxing market in the UK. It would of been a gamble unless a Macau casino was willing to stump up some money the secure the fight.

But I suspect you are right even if the fight had been a bigger draw in China, it's likely Warren forced the fight to be in the UK for the very reason you have stated.

Joyce needs to make a few minor adjustments and he wins this. Zhang was gassing badly by the 5th round but unfortunately for Joyce, he himself couldn´t capitalize because Zhang had already beaten him down too much.

Regardless of the outcome, it´s going to be a really good fight and the winner is one step closer to a title shot.

This fight should've been in China in December where JJ has a chance to beat him on his own turf. Joyce should get a small wooden shack in the mountains and train in the snow and run up the mountains while the CCP tracks him, while Zhang works in the modern lab.

Then at the end of the fight, Joyce can lecture them - I can change, You can change, We can change.

Yes, Joyce needs some sparring vs southpaws. Did he not know that Zhang was a lefty?
At this point in he career Joyce isn't going to radically change his style. If his eye doesn't blow up he might squeak out a win but The Big Band may have his number anyway.

This has the feeling Helenius/Kownacki in particular. Joyce like Kownacki has leaned heavenly on being able to tank punishment and then overwhelm his opponents down the stretch as they fade. Eventually that approach will catch up with you.

Zhan or Ortiz would be best. There isn’t much to choose from sadly.

Both are small compare to Zhang.

Wallin is almost same size, but don't punch that hard and his style is just not right to prepare someone for Zhang.

Southpaws are real problem at HW and even at CW.

Zhang is 40 years old right now.
