The thread should be, Zhang vs Lewis, Tyson, Holmes, Ali, Marciano in the same night. I give him a good chance, because no one said in their prime.
Yeah, not that bad of a thread. Zhang is no dummie ring IQ-wise, has skills, some deceptive hand speed and timing plus a chin to rely if his tight guard fails him. He would pose some threat. Still, I think Lewis is wrong for him (as for more or less anybody ever, but here especially). I can just see those overhand rights and possibly uppercuts on the inside wrecking Zhang eventually, mid to late rounds. He's just too slow to overcome Lewis' skillful, brutal onslaught.
I see this going like a Shannon Briggs type of ending, with Zhang landing something big early on but Lewis just breaking him by the 7th. But Zhang is more crafty than Briggs, so definitely higher threat.
Zhang would have a 30lb weight advantage, there would be no jabbing and grabbing and Lewis seemed to avoid any decent Southpaw in his career. Lewis would be nowhere near as dominant in this giant era.
LOL, no. Zhang is nothing like Golota - much, much bigger, hits harder, southpaw and has shown no mental problems unlike unstable Pole. Of course, I'd favor Lewis to beat him, but Lennox would be VERY catious early in the fight.
Seriously? An undeniable ATG vs a guy whos best wins are over an overhyped gatekeeper in Joyce?! You bet your ass it's a bad thread. Zhang looks decent, but he hasn't even fought the top guys as a pro in his own era, and there's a huge gap between the top guys (Usyk, Fury, AJ) and the rest.... and that's in a much weaker era. Any fighter is only as good as they prove. Zhang looks like he could be the real deal, but unless he can get a fight with one of the top guys in the division and be competitive, there's no way questions like this can be anything other than ridiculous.
