Most of the posts on this have to be trolling, no one can be that clueless. Though in fairness, since Ali is dead Zhang has to be the favourite. In fact he would beat Frazier, Liston and Louis on the same night.

Ali would run all over him. Make him fall all over himself.

Ali is not going to get caught while throwing a s-l-o-w a-s-s right h-a-nd- like Joyce throws.

movement, speed, combinations...Ali would be too much for Zhang. way too much. let's not get too carried away with Zhang's accomplishment. it was great and I am pulling for him to get a big fight. however, he would not beat every one in boxing history.

Come and show me how the sport continually progresses.

Let’s have a look at a few comparisons.

Here are the Ring’s current top 10 MW’s:

    Gennady Golovkin
    Zhanibek Alimkhanuly
    Carlos Adames
    Erislandy Lara
    Sergiy Deravyanchenko
    Chris Eubank Jnr
    Meiirim Nursultsnov
    Felix Cash
    Elijah Garcia
    Liam Smith

Here are the top 10 from 1987:

    Thomas Hearns
    Marvin Hagler
    Frank Tate
    Sumbu Kalambay
    Mike McCallum
    Michael Nunn
    Michael Olijade
    Iran Barkley
    Matthew Hilton
    Herol Graham

    A difference of 36 years!

    Where’s the progression??

How about a list from 1992?

    Julian Jackson
    James Toney
    Reggie Johnson
    Roy Jones
    Mike McCallum
    Sumbu Kalambay
    Gerald McClellan
    Lamar Parks
    Bernard Hopkins
    Thomas Tate

    A difference of 31 years!

    Where’s the progression??

Here are the Ring’s current top 10 HW’s:

    Oleksandr Usyk
    Tyson Fury
    Deontay Wilder
    Anthony Joshua
    Zhilei Zhang
    Andy Ruiz
    Joe Joyce
    Luis Ortiz
    Joseph Parker
    Filip Hrgovic
    Jared Anderson

Here are the top 10 from 1991:

    Evander Holyfield
    Mike Tyson
    Riddick Bowe
    Razor Ruddock
    Ray Mercer
    George Foreman
    Tim Witherspoon
    Tony Tucker
    Lennox Lewis
    Michael Moorer

    A difference of 32 years!

    Where’s the progression??

    Now also understand this:

I have only chosen 2 divisions. Yet if I’d have wanted to, I could have chosen many more. Many more from any of the divisions, from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 00’s.

I could compile a huge list.

The sport does not continually progress.

There’s many fighters from decades ago who would have been able to have beaten today’s guys.

    Go and educate yourself.

    Luis Ortiz
    Joseph Parker
    Filip Hrgovic

Now are you seriously telling us that Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Ken Norton and Larry Holmes etc, couldn’t even have COMPETED with ANY of them??

    Ha!

    GTFO!

So what if he’s 20 stone?

Do you think that Ali would have been stood there static?

Zhang has shown stamina issues, he’s got slow feet, he’s nowhere near as fast as Ali was, and he’d have had to have closed him down and caught him in order to have hurt him.

    And who’s he beaten?

    Joyce twice?

The stylistic match up would have favoured Ali, and Ali is far more proven.

There’s no such thing as a different era.

    Styles make fights.

Do you think that Zhang would punch holes through Usyk?

Usyk could beat Zhang with his speed and skills, just like he beat AJ. And I know that you don’t like AJ, but AJ is far more proven than what Zhang is.

    Another clown statement.

    Same height

    Same reach

    Practically the same weight

    Same level of power

Don’t embarrass yourself any further by talking about the percentage of body fat.

Usyk beats guys based upon his skills and speed, and not on size and power.

He is NOT bigger than Ali.

    What about Chris Byrd?

The stone in weight doesn’t mean a damn thing.

Usyk beats guys on skills and speed.

    Just like Chris Byrd did.

    Just like Ali did.

It’s absolutely nonsensical to claim that Ali couldn’t replicate what Usyk has done, and even more nonsensical to have favoured a 40 year old Zhang, who is slow with stamina issues, and who hasn’t beaten anyone of top quality yet.

Jesus, 25 people have voted for Zhang.

A guy with slow feet and stamina issues, who has only beaten Joyce twice.

    Bizarre.
