Zhang vs. Usyk, who wins?

There is a reason why Zhang is not calling for Usyk, but for Fury, as he knows what is going to happen to him !!!

Zhang is not as cautious as Joshua. Look at Usyk's face after most his fights, he gets hit a lot against people with less power and skill than Zhang. I think Zhang takes it with a surprise knockout.

 

Zhang is far bigger, stronger and has a fast left hand, Usyk does not deal well with fighters who press and Zhang is a fighter who will press and crush you, Zhang would tear Usyk to pieces...

 

Prime Usyk outboxes Zhang, but if Usyk has aged I give Zhang good chance beating Usyk.

 

If Usyk can take Zhang into the second half of the fight and he is still relative fresh himself he wins.

But I can see Zhang overpower Usyk.

60/40 fight towards Usyk.

 

Don't let 2 wins against Joyce fool you. Joyce is 38 years old, slow, clunky and heavy as an oaks trunk. He could never became a champion.

Although he was knocked down, Hrgovic beat Zhang black and blue and won almost every round. Zhang was very ineffective against him.

Zhang won't land a single blow on Usyk. Usyk outboxes him and knocks him out in round 11.

 

Usyk should win.

But Usyk has a style that relies to a greater degree on youth.

I'll be very surprised if Usyk is still in the conversation at age 40, as Zhang is.

Usyk could always 'get old overnight' as they say.

 

Depends on father time - it's clear to see that Usyk has declined in mobility and footwork since the Gassiev fight, but I think he would still be too elusive and fast for Zhang, and might survive a couple of rocky moments in the first 6, but pour it on a gassing Zhang down the back straight.

But it's definitely a risky fight at this stage of Usyk's career - even Usyk's chin would struggle with that right hook/cross that floored Joyce.

That said, Usyk is too ring-savvy IMO to get caught like that - but Zhang does have freakishly fast hands for such a big dude.

I'd still have my money on Usyk UD or late stoppage though - I didn't see enough decline in the Dubois fight to make me think he loses.

 

Usyk out boxes him. Zhang's good but his big weakness other than his gas tank is his movement. Just like Joyce he's such a big unit he doesn't move well, in fact he makes Joyce look agile, he's so planted and slow of foot.

Zhang excels in taking away the orthodox jab and making guys reach in to land and then countering them. But Usyk is a southpaw too and a far more agile and faster one. What Zhang does so well vs orthodox fighters won't work vs Usyk.

Zhang will no doubt have his moments much like Joshua did when he was able to land but they will be few and far between and in the end he'll get out boxed, out worked and will fade down the stretch to lose a clear decision.
