I won't be bothered if Usyk retires now hes earned it but if not i would like to see him fight somebody fresh , not somebody he's already beaten .. Zhang or Parker ideally.
A year and some change later, I still stand by this with some changes. I could maybe see Zhang flooring Usyk for the first time in his career, considering he doesn't have to load up or land super clean to knock someone down. Even if he did manage to do this though, I doubt he'd land the sort of punch that would keep Usyk down for good, and once he got back up he wouldn't repeat whatever mistake that made him taste the canvas. I say if Zhang came in like he did for the fights against Hrgovic, Wilder and Joyce the first time, then Usyk cruises to a wide points decision after a very tense 3-5 rounds or so. If he comes in at the upper 280s-290 weights like he did for Joyce 2 and Parker, I see Usyk managing to stop him around 8-10, either from making him hit the deck from exhaustion or getting a standing TKO from unloading on him and him not fighting back. What ain't changed though is this still being one of my dream fights, and once again Zhang is in position to become a mandatory for him. Come on Boxing gods, don't put this in front of me only to yank it away again
Zhang’s only chance is an early knockout. Usyk isn’t the guy you want to fight when you’re known for having stamina problems. Zhang will also look really slow both in terms of handspeed and footwork against Usyk. But Zhang is still a dangerous fight for anyone.
