The fight is scheduled for the end of spring; the beginning of summer. Not later than the end of July (maybe the end of June). How nice it would be if boxing worked like that. Who wins? The winner gets a chance to fight for the title; the defeated is preparing for retirement. The defeated has the right to a "farewell fight", to retire with a win. Probably my bias speaking, since I liked the guy before the Joyce fight and am still buzzing from the win, but I give Zhang the better chance. Fury isn't really known for his punching power but was able to get Wilder down by the third round twice. I think that Zhang could very well get Wilder out of there by then, given his own power and ability to string together combinations. Same could happen to Zhang though, Wilder's also a hell of a puncher and since Zhang hasn't really fought a ton of hard punchers it's hard to say how he'd handle it. What makes me give Zhang the edge is the fact that he's got the better and sneakier punching technique, which makes me think he'd land first. But really, I don't know. I wouldn't swear it in blood on either guy. I'd love like hell to find out though.
Everyone just does their own thing in boxing now, promoters just let the fighters have all the power and hand pick their opponents….but to answer the question I reckon Wilder gets him out of there.
Simple question of how many right hands can Zhang take and how many lefts can Wilder take? For every 3 Zhang bombs, Wilder would land 1... It's all about Zhangs chin, its a guarantee this fight would not see the 5th round and it would only end in a brutal KO. I'm leaning 60/40 Zhang. Zhang took Joyces and Hrgovic's best shots and was never fazed. We know Wilder has been hurt many times in his career against much lesser opppsition
Gut feeling was Wilder by KO… but the more I think about it, the more I believe Zhang might match up very well against Wilder. He rarely takes a backward step, he has a very significant size advantage (50-60 lbs) over Wilder, and that may enable Zhang to emulate Fury’s Wilder 2 performance. He tends to starts very strong, if he knocks Wilder down in the first few rounds I think he could sustain pressure for 6 or so rounds until Wilder is unable to continue. Zhang doesn’t have the boxing skill of Fury but his natural power is 10 times harder than Fury’s, he has one-shot KD’d and KO’d guys with his right hook and straight left. Leaning Zhang, but you can never count Wilder out.
My pick is a wilder KO but I wouldn't bet. Zhang could get him out of there early and I'm not sure how much punch resistance Wilder has left after those last 2 Fury fights. But I think the most likely outcome is that Zhang hurts Wilder early but Wilder survives and catches a tired Zhang who tends to tire out in the 2nd half of fights and doesn't move his feet alot late.
Wilder stopped a more skilled Southpaw twice...............and Ortiz was way more agile, defensive cautious and I bet my bottom dollar that he hits as hard as Zhang. Zhang has no answer for Wilder's speed and Wilder best punch is the straight right and that is the death sentence for South paws with no stamina. If Hypejob Joyce would have squared off vs Wilder yesterday he would have been clean ko'ed..............you aint fighting Wilder s power with absolute zero ZERO defense.Fact.
The Dosser could not survive one bang from Big Bang Zhang. Not even one. And seeing as Big Bang Zhang, in complete contrast to damn never everyone the Dosser has fought, actually possesses skills he'd have zero difficulty catching him. He's going to sleep as soon as Big Bang grazes that soft chin of his and you can take that to the bank.
