https://boxing-social.com/news/zhilei-zhang-calls-out-top-5-heavyweight/ It's an interesting fight. Zhang likely wants this fight because on the surface Ajagba does kind of resemble Joyce style wise. Both are slow at least Zhang KO but it's be a good fight beforehand
For me Ajagba was overrated. Sanchez fight show that he is limited. Way he beat Zhan Kossobutskiy was perfidious and pathetic. I dont think he got mental to win with someone like Zhang who is now proven fighter on high level. Maybe Ajagba is quicker in movement but Zhang hand speed should let Chinese man catch him with good counter and I think Ajagba go down then. End of the day that's always risky move to take fight like that. I mean if You cross some level, got better option on horizon and already got position move backward like that can cost You much. Joyce knew smth about it. Kownacki also. And many more. Zhang favorite off course but he should aim at easier, bigger $$ fight right now until he can fight for belts. Chisora is easy night for him and Dereck talk a lot about that fight. In Zhang place I would check this option.
Weird fight to ask for. I kind of like Ajagba though, I think he's at least as good as Dubois or Makhmudov.
would give ajagba a chance actually hes improved some what since his sanchez loss. no idea why zhang would risk taking this fight at his age tbh. he would be the favorite but still risky fight to take considering he should be fighting someone like aj/wallin/parker/wilder level
Not sure how weird it is, really... Zhang would be a very heavy favourite, but it's an okay keep busy fight whilst he waits for the Fury-Usyk fight to happen (if it does) and his chance at a title fight comes around. Surprised he's not after Dubois to be honest - decent name recognition means an okay payday and obviously Dubois is very beatable too.
Dubois QUITS 10/10 in against the big PAPA from the ORIENT. same as Joshua. same as Jared Anderson. the big communist WARLORD.
I think Ajagba would take it because he's about that life and he has a proven track record of being willing to take tough fights against unbeaten prospects and contenders. I would advise him to swerve this one though as Big Bang is a bad match up for him and one which will likely end with him getting knocked senseless.
Excellent matchup. I'm a big fan of both guys. I went with Ajagba because ... someone should. Also, while I think Zhang is awesome, I thought he legitimately lost a close fight to Hrgovic. Sanchez outboxed Ajagba. However, this will just be a slugfest. And Ajagba could outlast him. Zhang was stumbling back to his corner exhausted against Hrgovic. I'm still not sold on Big Bang's gas tank. Maybe 2024 will be the year of the upsets.
Not an easy fight for Zhang by any means who's getting up there in age. I'd favor Zhang but Ajagba can't be counted out, especially since he can Big Bang, himself.
I like this, rather than squatting on his spot he is fighting another contender. Ajagba is not an uncoordinated stiff like Joyce so this may be competitive and Zhang has stamina problems. I think this will be a good fight
