Today's average top ten HW, despite being much larger (and much older) than those of the pre-2000 era, are much worse fighters. Zhang looked like absolute crap last night, but fortunately for him he was only fighting the guy that would destroy a prime George Foreman as I've seen suggested recently LOL. If anyone watched that garbage and still thinks these guys destroy fighters like Foreman, then I must say that we are at polar opposites as far as how we gauge what we're seeing. They looked like good quality tough man competitors, nothing more.
No, it shows fast accurate heavy handed southpaws are a pain in the ass for pretty much everyone, regardless of the weight division.
Like I said, completely different points of view. Hitting a stationary target is not a display of accuracy in my book. Hitting a non-stop bobbing & weaving Frazier on the chin is more my idea of accuracy, as an example.
people love to try and discredit this post Wlad era when really it was the Wlad era that sucked most You cant be a super heavy jab clincher there are too many other big men around today. Fury, Joyce, AJ, Wilder, Bakole, Zhang, Hurgo, Jalapeno, Makhmood, Dubious david price.
I give him credit for beating Joyce, but I won't pretend he has skills, he's not very good at all. But then, there's no one around at HW that can actually box well, except Fury & Usyk and Fury ain't all that great himself.
What are you on about? He clearly has skill the guy is a silver medalist. If you want to criticize his stamina sure, but the guy clearly is skilled.
I think it shows that Zhang is worthy of top 10, perhaps even top 5. Also exposed Joyce's shitty defense.
I think his skills suck and would make anyone in the top maybe 10 even money apart from Usyk & Fury, who destroy him. I could care less about what he did before turning pro, I trust what my eyes see.
With Frazier at a chubby 205 lbs, many of these guys send Frazier into orbit, just like Foreman and Norton did. That being said, fighting once a year for 5-10 years definitely has these guys skills rotting on the vine.
Zhang looked decent. Joyce was target practice though. Big lefty’s are tough only Wlad really went after them and even he got felled by Sanders early on.
The average top 10 HW of the 70's doesn't beat Foreman, why hold the average top 10 heavy of today to a higher standard?
