One of my very, very favourite boxers since 2013. Middleweight. 6ft. 2013 World Amateur Champion. Robbed in Olympics 2016 - was favourite to win at least Silver. Good power, illusive. With hard work and sheer dedication, he can make a great name for himself. He wants titles in many weight classes. vs Quigley who was a great amateur. Zhanibek never cared. This content is protected Nice KO here. This content is protected Another here at WSB, KO'ing a Cuban fighter This content is protected He's facing Milton Nunes tomorrow http://boxrec.com/boxer/774417 I made this thread again because the last one got horrendously derailed. Here's what he said - “To fight in my hometown and to fight in my country makes me very proud,” Alimkhanuly told RingTV.com through Nelson Lopez Jr. “I’m happy that I have my pro debut at home. “My opponent is an experienced guy; he’s had a lot of fights. I am doing my best in training. I will be stepping in at a good level. It will give me more experience for the future.” About GGG: “He’s not so much of an much influence on me,” he explained. “Every fighter has their own style of boxing. Every fighter is different. I can be better than him. We don’t care about Golovkin. He’s made his own way in boxing and I will make mine. I’m happy he’s my countryman.” http://www.ringtv.com/470798-zhanibek-alimkhanuly-make-pro-debut-saturday/
Technique areas for improvement - When fighting on the inside and the ref resets it due to clinching, he can get caught as his opponent rushes in with an attack from outer-to-mid range as he makes his way back in - Zhanibek is in in-fighting mode so doesn't see them shots coming. Zhanibek himself has a lot of success when he does this and should seek to do this more often. Also when landing punches in a trade, he needs to make sure to remain defensively responsible - he has eaten a few unnecessary shots and moves his body to evade shots well but that's only one piece of the puzzle. He needs to change angles of attack with his feet on the inside, more. Zhanibek can fight and box. On the outside he's brilliant, he sets up his power punches beautifully with his footwork. He operates very well without utilising the jab, but utilising the jab for the pros will be great for his game the way it helped Loma. He was KO'd on a body shot by Khytrov once.
Looking at the opponent, I expect they're going to fastpace him trough the ranks. The guy isn't that good and gets stopped, but by good names and later on in their careers.
I read the fight will be at lightheavyweight, he is small for 175. Will the fight be broadcasted? He sure was robbed in Rio and i was expecting to see him against Lopez.
